Those look scary. Do you know if they are active? Don't eat it though if you haven't haha. I was just wondering if they were just some kind of fucked up Nightmare Before Christmas mutants. But it is most likely contamination of some sort.

Could it really be that dangerous?

Some moulds are deadly if ingested. If you are sure they are cubes then eat them. But its honestly not worth dying to find out.

Those are not Ps. cubensis, and frankly, I have no idea what it is. It looks seriously contaminated though.
EDIT: Xylaria sp.

What the hell! This is already been answered in your week old thread that I was addicted to! http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/7444553/page/0/fpart/1/vc/1 We know the outcome of this story already. You chose to abort the grow, etc. etc. etc. We all were disappointed with the fact that you had trouble with your camera so you couldn't post any more pics. Ect. Ect.

Curecat, I'd question Xylaria sp, which prefers rotting wood. The pins don't look quite right, either.
What in the hell type of spawn did you use? It seems evident that you actually spawned this mushroom mycelium, not p. cubensis....

A) All of those are on rotting wood, or unidentifiable substrate. B) I seem to remember you moderate the mushroom hunting board. My first guidebooks came a few weeks back; enough said.
Thanks for the pics; I particularly enjoyed the hypoxylon...

Yeah, but mushrooms don't read books.
They don't know what they are supposed to look like, grow on, or when they are supposed to grow.... so sometimes the opportunistic spore germinates and vigorously takes over the substrate despite lack of optimal conditions. With mushrooms, there are usually generalizations, but not rules.
I think it was RR that posted a thread on a Ps. cubensis contamination of one of his Sparassis crispa grows. Regardless of the fact that S. crispa is preferable to the sawdust substrate, a really aggressive Ps. cubensis strain was able to take over.

I disagree with the Cat. Ive heard (from reliable sources) that some mushrooms just CONSUME religious reading and absorb a lot of information from such books. I think RR has caught them in the act a few times using telephone directories, but my fav is the Bible users. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/files/07-007/172997665-Bible_1.jpg
Hehehe...thanks for the link and good point on the contams Cat. Thats the best looking contam I've ever seen tho. Man if only my grows would contam with redboy and not Trich. Hmm....note to self - must let my Ps. sporulate all over the place.
Apart from the who knows what and why, I would agree, this is an interesting contam you have there, and I wouldnt disagree with Curecat on the genus.
As for your issues, yeah chuck and start over.
