I started a job on a medical marijuana farm on Sept. 5th. We represent over 200 patients in the San Francisco area, and our farm is as legal as it possibly gets according to California State Law. We been preparing for harvest for the last three weeks and planned to start the major trimming work yesterday. Unfortunately for us, the DEA showed up around 9am. I first noticed them on the hill, and when I glanced there were two agents screaming "put your hands on your head!" Semi-automatic weapons kept us in check while they tied us up with zip ties and marched us up the hill. After they cut down down over 200 plants they proceeded to question us about who was in charge and where the money came from.. then they took off with a new jeep and a large amount of cash from the property and left without arresting anyone.
It's definitely the craziest experience I've had in a good while..
I could go on about how they're spying on harmless American citizens, or depriving patients from a necessary medication. We could even discuss the politics and the religion of it all, but ultimately it comes down to money I think.

in all seriousness,
mad respect to the dedicated people in California that are on the front lines in the battle for legalization.
I'm sorry to hear you had to go through that experience. I know it can be quite traumatic. Afterwards, you feel raped. There's so much anger and sadness about what has been taken from you. Just be glad it was your workplace and not your personal residence. It sucks when you can't even feel safe in your own home, believe me.
I sincerely hope that in the eyes of history, you and your kind will be regarded as right, the patriots who fought against injustice and won. Even though it seems like now everything is against you. Just think of MLK and Ghandi, the sacrifices they gave for their movements.
just keep on pluggin. with truth and justice behind you, they can't keep you down forever.

Was it completely outdoors or in a big greenhouse?
Maybe do it in a high tunnel greenhouse next time so they can't see all the plants. You've got to keep it out of view.

yeah, it was outdoor. we had over 200 gorgeous plants. we've considered all kinds of ideas for hiding the plants. it seems the more stuff of value that's around the more likely you'll become a target. a greenhouse would be a primary target for sure. in the mountains of mendocino the dea fly around in helicopters and check the scene out. they walked away with like $80,000 worth of valuables, and probably $1.5 million worth of bud.
