Weed can bring back some of the effects of DXM after the trip is over. It's a documented fact.
The way it interacts with weed was one of my favorite things about dxm. I never really cared for dxm much without it. The limit to how high weed can make you goes out the window. You can smoke an insane amount and never stop getting higher and higher the whole time until you give up a drift away. Very very far away.

Exactly, weed amplified the experience so much more than I expected. I think that it didn't bring back the effects so much as actually catalyze the dxm because the expectorant left so much dxm in my system over night. The moment we were done smoking that bowl my stomach turned over and I could hear it gurgling and digesting the syrup. I couldn't really tell it was the dex until about 20-30 minutes into work at which point I told Ricky that I was way, way too high and needed to go home. Dex is some amazing stuff and I have a new respect for dissociatives but I can't say I'll be dosing any for a very, very long time

Yes it amplifies it but it can also bring back the effects after the trip is actually over. That phenomenon is covered in this part of the dxm faq.
http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/dxm/faq/dxm_mixing.shtml
That seems far more likely than the single dose actually lasting that long or sitting not fully digested.

It's been many years since I've used DXM but I don't think it's a long term thing.
I can definitely remember having some weird next days at work too though.
