I don't think your ID of the bolete is correct. The stem is not bulbous and is the wrong color.
Which state are you in?
Scratch the tube surface and let us know if it changes color and how quickly.
What kinds of trees were nearby? Nearby means close enough that they could hit you if cut down.
Happy mushrooming!

Nice pics Especially the ones under unidentified. Looks like some cool Stropharia and maybe Psatherylla and Hypholoma in there, too. Beautiful The ones in the last pic bear a strong resemblence to cubes.

Toxicman: i see what you mean. They were growing on a little hill between heath. Perhaps its Boletus erythropus the witches bolete? I don't know many boletes with red stems and pores.
Cactu they are not little mushrooms but a little species of moss(Cladonia sp).

afaik it was a piece of sand/mud that they were growing from but maybe it was dung after all. there are more then 250 different species of mushrooms fruiting in that particular area and only when i got home and studied my pictures i noticed the purple spore deposit and psilolike appearance of these little mushrooms!

you know that last one is a psilocybe no doubt , what specie could it be, if it was dung may be ps. moellerii,my best guess, second may be merdaria, there is also another possible candidate ps, subviscida, but o go for the first one , have a good day my friend , we all learn from the others , that why i try to know more , all my best vibration to you

Beautiful pictures! I'm curious, it looks as though most were taken using natural lighting only. Is that correct? If not, you are doing a great job of diffusing the flash. Your exposures are probably pretty long huh. I use a power shot as well, my biggest complaint about the model would definitely be f8 as the maximum focus depth in manual mode. Again, spectacular pictures and wonderful compositions!

@georgeM If it is possible i use natural lighting. Most of the pictures from this thread were taken without a tripod because there was so much to photograph and my time was limited. But yeah, you do have to have a steady hand with long exposure times when you take pictures on the forestfloor In normal conditions i think the a520 powershot has a tendency to overexpose a bit so then i use a -2/3 correction. For max focus depth a little tripod and the 2 second timer come in handy.

I just got a mini tripod on ebay, $3.69 including shipping.
When I turn on the 2 second delay I will be unstoppable!

the two second delay rocks! As do mini tripids, however I often end up positioning the camera on the ground and making adjustments in angle with little rocks or sticks anyway. Tripods are really handy, essential really, when your mushrooms are elevated at all.
