You find some nice stuff snoot! I'm presuming you have collected from this tree in the past in order to feel comfortable saying this is americanum. Does look like it it will develop multiple branches. I have only one Hericium spot, featuring coralloides, and fear it may be reaching the end of the line.

i have only find abietinus here one in my life time, in big abies tree log, they taste so good i wish they were more abundant, is that in a live tree, i have only see it grow on dead trees. will love to see the hole process .

yeah its a live tree, its a giant maple tree. it fruits each fall. and it is very delicious. I'll take a picture each morning. expect more.
