There's really no alternative to a good PC sterilization, not one as good at least. You can steam sterilize but if you want 100% no contams you should just go with the PC.

simply use a large sauce pan with a small amount of water in the bottom and make sure your jars are not sitting in the water or touching the sauce pan put them in a colander prehaps? let the steam sterilize the jars for 90 minutes (ish). DO NOT LET THE PAN BOIL DRY!
i havnt tried this method but have heard that others use it.

A large rice cooker works well. I used one for one whole year in the backwoods of oklahoma with good results about 10 years ago. Does not work well with large jars though.

The two are unrelated.
You can boil BRF jars. The amount of sterilization is dependent upon what's in those jars. Simply follow the PF Tek; a simple google search, or one on this site, will find it for you.
For those more into bulk subs, does anyone remember who was doing WBS/antibacterial soap soak tests? I was waiting to see what happened there before buying some triclosan or salicylic acid. I'm worried about water solubility for the former, pH control for the latter. Perhaps buffering the jars with gypsum afterwards would be sufficient. Thoughts appreciated...
