Requiem for a Dollar

Here I was getting increasingly annoyed at the devaluation of the Euro, and then the Dollar sinks to an unprecedented low.
1 euro = $1.42 US
What's the world coming to Now the ECB will lower the euro a bit more to close the gap with the dollar a bit and we Europeans get to cough up the dough.
The Federal Reserve seems to be stealing whole cents out of every dollar on a monthly basis now. Since the Fed has gotten its grimy hands on the Dollar, it has devalued from the $1 it once was to the $0.04 it once was. To give you an idea: in a 200 year period previous, back when currencies were on the gold standard, the entire degree of inflation in two centuries was about 50%, and now in the course of a human lifetime its more like 2500% and counting.
If you are thinking about buying something thats of lasting use or value for you, I'd say buy it now, because I foresee things will get pretty expensive pretty soon.
If you have cash lying around, do something with it that will at least increase it by an annual 5-10%, because anything less than that is a loss. Your purchasing power diminishes at quite a bigger rate than the so-called "2% inflation" thats the official version of whats going on. Expect a huge correction downward of official numbers in the future, as they lose any and all credibility.
Gold and silver hold a serious promise to retain your value and perhaps increase it significantly. If the dollar goes to hell, gold and silver will soar. No investment is without risk however, all i'm saying is that if you think it applies, look into it and make your own decisions.
Me and some members were stirring about gold going up less than a year ago, when gold was at $600 for a Troy Ounce. Today, it is $744 for the same amount. That means that in theory some shroomerites might have made a 24% profit in that year.
A serious gold bullion coin (1/4 troy ounce) starts at around $212 nowadays. We warned you guys when they could be had for $171 apiece. I hate to say we told you so but.. sometimes the tinfoil hat folks are right
Your Dollars and Euros are going to Hell. And they will take most other currencies with them. I'm not going to bother you with gold talk too much but if you were thinking of buying something of lasting use or value to you, buy it better soon when its affordable than to pay more in the near future. If you invest, look into real estate and commodities like precious & base metals and the like. The best thing you can ever buy in your life is a reasonable house in a reasonable neighborhood.
The Dollar's going down.. don't go down with it.

Loonie jumps above parity with greenback
The loonie was up 0.50 of a cent to $1.0036 US after Statistics Canada reported the economy grew by 0.2 per cent in July, the same rate recorded in June.

at this moment:
$1 US = $ 1.0031 CAN
so the Canadian dollar is worth 0.31 CENT less than the US dollar. Thats pretty fucking fucked up, at least for the Americans.

$1.0031 CAN = 1 USD $1 AUD = 0.885547 USD 1 EURO = 1.422 USD 1 troz GOLD = 744 USD
and all of this at the same time paints a sorry picture for the US Dollar. But all currencies except gold will suffer this decline of the dollar as most international trade is done in USD.

the problem with gold and silver is that when the world collapses it will hold ZERO value.
i myself would invest in water or rations.

I often wonder how far this will go
the politicians that legislate the overspending that causes inflation
I hope they are being advised by someone that knows what they are doing
like some guy is watching these numbers as if they were a gauge,
and when the needle on that gauge gets to a certain point
He'll have the sense to say: "Whoa, she's about to blow!"
but I somehow doubt it.
which sucks because I'd hate for it to end up like in post WWI Gernany, you know when their currency was so devalued it took like a whole wheelbarrow full of it to buy bread.
because that would suck.

Once you exercise this freedom you've lost all control over what you do, what is produced, and how it is produced. And in the end, the product doesn't belong to you. The only way you can avoid bosses and jobs is if you don't care about making a living. Which leads to the second freedom: the freedom to starve." - Tom Morello

The trend is your friend.
(Or enemy in this case).

Btw, Wiccan, I love your avatar. Where did you get the idea for it?

Yep. But in the meantime it will be hella valuable. A good idea might be to use the intervening period to stock up on silver and gold (in that order) and buy things you will need with it for after the inevitable crash. Most real goods will retain their value after a crash.
And it will crash. Fiat currencies always do eventually. But the public is dead asleep and our so-called leaders want to keep the party going as long as possible and pray the crash happens on someone else's watch after they get out of town.
The dollar is almost in a freefall and people are smiling and enjoying the breeze in their face and wondering why the ground keeps getting closer..
