Baby liberty cap or something else?
    #7463192 - 09/28/07 06:08 AM (16 years, 4 months ago)

I found this in a horse field, which was on a slope, it was found in the sedge grass growing from the ground, not the manure. The stem was quite slippy/Sticky and the cap had a very smooth feel to it.

Thanks for the help guys

O well thats on the bright side of things then lol. So when your looking for liberty caps, are there like other mushrooms you look out for that signal the libs are about that area or is it just pot luck?

Stropharia semiglobata is a pretty good indicator species that the habitat is suited for libs. So its a good thing

liberty caps from what I've seen are much smaller than that.

But the shape of it looks a lot like it.
