heres a couple pics of my lc's... the top picture if before i have swirled them and the bottom one is after. you can see all the mycelium sitting in the bottom of the bottles and there are some peices floating too but its hard to make out with the camera.

anyways does the mycelium look good to you guys. i heard it was supposed to be more stringy.

and the bottle on the left always has a large chunk of mycelium (maybe contam) floating on the top you can see in the 2nd pic after i swirl it how big it is and it just always stays at the top. do you guys think this is a contam??? thanks for all the help...

those jars look tainted. are you sure your LC is sealed?? i used baby bottles and had problems with cheap design that wouldnt seal. i could squeeze them and see that air could get in and out. even tho i wrapped it with micropore tape. it still turned out brownish like yours. and the mycelium had a dark cloud near it. my other LC...sealed, worked great! good luck

looks contamned to me, contams are a little bit more wispy than myc, but still white. Some contams you can't even see.

Agreed. Definately looks like contamination. The container should be cloudy with satellite growths sometimes as well. It shouldn't also be floating at the VERY top and not show growth a little more downward. Mine usually stay from the very top to the middle of the jar and I use honey as my LC medium too. Sorry, but good luck next time
