band name
    #7460410 - 09/27/07 01:46 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

My band is called "creatures of habit" which is cool enough but there are about 300 other bands by the same name so we gotta get something new.
My only suggestion was just drop the creatures and be "of habit" which is kinda unoriginal too but its going somewhere.
My question is, is "omniscient" a good band name, cuz I said it sucked balls and my friend almost stabbed me cuz he thought it was the best thing since wonder bread. i dunno, any comments or suggestions welcome.

oooh ooh, I used to play this game with friends. We would just sit there smokin, trying to come up with cool band names.

I think that if you're gonna get good feedback on this, you need to tell people what kind of music your band plays.

otherwise you get inapplicable names. For example: 'Toxic Crayons' is good for a punk band, but not for a country band.

Well, I don't think I can offer you a cool band name but I can say that I am not a fan of "omniscient". The meaning is cool enough but it wouldn't be right to hear some dudes come out and say "Hey guys, we are Omniscient!"

hahaha i like that, I've had a bunch but their all band names you'd hear if you where in Helsinki or something. "3-d dinosaur adventure" "the influence" "Lyceum" "robot lords of Tokyo" "grandma anarchy and the jolly good times" none of them fit the style we play except maybe robot lords of Tokyo.

Not bad, I like the feel. Something I could put on to fall asleep, space out, think, or just to have something on in the background. I couldn't really see that being incorporated with Joplin though, try to stick with one thing. If you are going from 60's music to some new age electronica, no one will take you seriously.

electronica makes up maybe 1% of what I do, I prefer an acoustic with some backing and me singing, which is i guess what where gonna be doing for the most part. i mean i do electronica on the side for the hell of it when im bored or i left my guitar at the practice house. and we might throw some programmed dance leads if we ever feel like getting that kasabian groove or something. haha i dunno thanks for all the suggestions and shit though

Omniscient is terrible.

Try here:

http://www.bandnamemaker.com/

Most are crap, but there are some gems.

"Foul Betty" I liked.

"Flushing Potent" is by far the best one I got

People get down on names that start with "The" but I like them.  Just pick an interesting noun:

The Affiliates
The Followers
The Napes
The Balls
The Concepts
The Tomato-Faces
