FirstFind of a Newbie

Hello guys!

I was hoping someone could help identify these mushrooms.

Found them in shade , where there were a lot of moisture and was a short grass.

I specifically interested what are those on second picture they look like shamrocks.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Don't go hard on me I know nothing about mushrooms.

Thank you again.

My guess from the looks of the mushroom and the black staining on the paper towel that pictures #3 and #4 would be in the coprinellus (sp?) genus. Or basically they're some kind of ink cap. Not active.

I'd have to agree

Agreed but more specifically Coprinopsis atramentaria. Can find in "North American Mushrooms" by "Dr. Orson K. Miller Jr. and Hope H. Miller" AFALCONGUIDE

They look more like Coprinellus to me, than Coprinopsis, but that's just my perspective. I wouldn't argue either with certainty.

Looks like copiously fruiting coprinus atramentarius to me.

Same thing as Coprinopsis atramentaria, just depends on which book you look at.

Yes, Coprinopsis is the accurate nomenclature.

yeah, those are Coprinopsis. Congrats even if they were not what you were looking for, and welcome to hunting on you first find!
