SUSHI
    #7459081 - 09/27/07 07:36 AM (16 years, 4 months ago)

I love sushi.
had a large sushi dinner last night that we made ourselves.
got some fresh tuna steaks, a nice salmon filet, and a barbecued eel steak.
made a ton of maki and about 30 pieces of nigiri with avacado, carrot, and cucumber.
man that's good eatin'!
can't wait to get home and eat the last unagi roll in the fridge.
What's your favorite sushi fish?
You may choose many

yeah it would have been good to hit up the country side. we went to some small little town outside of hiroshima for the day, but didn't say much. it was still very much a place based on tourism. but still, that place is amazing... and the food kicks ass. the only food there that DOESN'T kick ass is this shit called 'natto' or some shit, it's this fermented bean that's all sticky and fucked up and you put it in rice. tastes like absolute fucking SHIT. When my host family told me about it, i thought they said "noodles" and i'm like "oh yeah! I love that stuff!" and they were like "wtf" but they gave me a tub of it anyway.

I didn't know you were supposed to put it on rice, so i opened up this little container and put the sachet in to mix in, then started eating the shit straight out of the container, trying to hide my disgust. i cannot describe it, it was so disgutsing possibly the worst thing ive ever eaten. I was like "mmmmmmm" :puke: and theyre like "errr... you're supposed to put it in your rice"

even in rice it tasted like ass.

This is what it looks like

Fuck, it's the worst fucking taste. Like, i cannot describe it other than fermented dogs asshole with seasoned cockhairs all over it.

Disgusting. stay away from this shit. it's not even an acquired taste, it's just rank

:puke:

asians have some weird shit going on

in hong kong, the most unnerving thing was looking at the menu in some retaurant:

"turtle soup"
"pigs intestinse in boiled blood" (no joke)
eel soup, with full on eels heads floating in it

among other things

hardly any birds, because it's a $1500 fine if you get caught feeding birds... because "they cause mess"

turtle is an expensive delicasy (or so i've heard) in japan and i'm rather partial to eel... though i am not sure the head in a bowl would help me want to eat it..

i've only recently eaten a bit of sushi, in large part because i'm allergic to shrimp, crab, and lobster, so i didn't want to risk getting some unknowingly and then going all pukey. however, i had some spicy tuna rolls and some other stuff and it was fucking fantastic. now i want more. but goddamn it's expensive.

hey skattman.. why don't you make me some sushi? you seem like you're pretty adept at it.

the tough part about making sushi is getting the rice to come out without being too starchy but i'm decent. dont even have to use a rolling mat unless i want too. too bad you're allergic to shellfish tiny rabid, bc spider rolls are the shit.

my girlfriend and I are both addicted

to sushi.

we need to dose it at least once a week.

I get everything spicy: spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy albacore, spicy yellowtail.

its soooo expensive though :frown:

also, I've found that 'bargain' sushi is usually a mistake...

One thing I thought is the raw salmon. Doesn't it need to be 'cured' somehow. I didn't think you could just eat it raw like you could tuna.

I am addicted to sushi as well. I go to an all you can eat sushi place for  $11.95 usually on sundays and its quite good. Have had many epic battles there. Big fan of spicy tuna rolls, chicken teriyaki rolls and dynamite.

"Have some congratulatory drugs." - C. Montgomery Burns

I'll probably always do drugs, so that just contributes to the addiction to The Shroomery... It's a vicious circle of bliss. :tongue2:

as tough as it is to find fresh i'm rather partial to uni (sea urchin) nigiri and kohada (shad). the shad is especially hard to find these days due to the price of catching the little bastards and shipping them to the states...

yeah it would have been good to hit up the country side. we went to some small little town outside of hiroshima for the day, but didn't say much. it was still very much a place based on tourism. but still, that place is amazing... and the food kicks ass. the only food there that DOESN'T kick ass is this shit called 'natto' or some shit, it's this fermented bean that's all sticky and fucked up and you put it in rice. tastes like absolute fucking SHIT.

:puke:

Hey, that stuff isn't that gross. Just kind of bland.
