Closet of Syzygy! UPDATED with DRY WEIGHT
#7457452 - 09/26/07 08:28 PM (16 years, 4 months ago) |
|
|
So I thought, I haven't done a log in a long time, i did my F+ log, a failing mexicube log, and an Oak Ridge Log, (growlogs)
Here's what I've got going on with syzygy right now: As usual, all products ordered from www.mycopath.com of course I had 100% success. 50/50 pre pasteurized horsemanure and straw, Filter patch bags, and some 60cc syringes. If you mess up cry0's product, it's because you don't know what you're doing.

some are in different stages, from pre pins, to third flush, I just thought i'd share...
I may give away about 100 free syzygy prints, as i did with Oak Ridge.
peace!

Those are some nice fruits if a little strangely shaped.
On a more serious note; what do you do with the substrate after the first flush?

I rehydrate it and wait for the next flush!!!
I've had these flush for 3 months at a time, why would I throw it away!?!? (they usually get as small as a hockey puck.)

Oh I'm not suggesting you'd pitch them I just didn't know how you re-hydrated them. Still in the bag? Removed then replaced? Crumbled and spawned to bulk? Etc...

syzygy is an exc strain. I had a few nice mono tub flushes. WBS to Hpoo. Real body high. Sort of an anesthesia effect great times.

I pour about a cup of spring water into the bag, by tilting the bag and letting it run down the side, and the poo block absorbs it by the time the next flush starts.

oh and you can order all your filterpatch mycobags at www.mycopath.com as well as any other needs, it's about the only place i'd shop, the only other place would be a reputable spore vendor like www.sporeworks.com or www.ralphstersspores.com

well it seems i have to wait until i hit 24 hours, i've either uploaded too much, or am at stand still on the amount I can upload, any ideas on an image host as I have tons of new images that are tasty to share.
this is the response i get from shroomery:
"There were problems with your upload: tub9.jpg was bigger (117166) than your current upload limit (34506) and was not saved."

I suppose one could put something opaque around the bag, but, i prefer to leave it alone, they do great in the simplistic state they are in, no reason to make something easy, into something hard.

hahah so far dry weight I have no clue. I'll take photos of it.
I know so far, 6oz dry. But, that's been from picking here and there. We'll see what the large haul is, so far I have 5 nesco snackmaster 4 tray dehydrators stuffed completely full.
8 hours I suppose, if not 12, and I'll have a dry weight total.
MY GUESS
a kilo.
THIS syzygy grow was all multispore LC, that's why the pinsets are sporadic, i've taken some clone tissue to agar, we'll see what happens with that.

My casing layer is Vermiculite straight out of the bag. NO nothing else. A casing layer Should NOT contain nutritious materials, casing layers are a protective barrier, using something nutritious only invites contamination.

Thank you for the compliment!!! This grow included 20 invitro poo bags, and 4 large monotubs.
My total DRY WEIGHT:
1.25lbs (I over estimated by a lb)

THANX!!!!
yeah! lots of fungi, now off to the garbage disposal with it!

gathering prints to those that have emailed me, anyone after todays date will probably have to wait, everyone before todays date has priority.
So everyone that wanted both prints, they are going out tomorrow. Everyone that still wants oak ridge, I apologize but that grow is over, and It will be awhile before I start them again, I'll have more in December probably. (I am moving as of today will be starting fresh)
So, for now, I am out of oak ridge, except for the few I was able to get for those of you I missed, or have requested over the past week.
Quit Pm'ing me about trades or sells, I wont sell any spores, they are free, I don't really want anything in trade. There are a few of you that have sent me stuff, and it's MUCH appreciated, they were mostly lab supplies, which i need MORE then spores. I have steady access to any spore I want. I also have a bank of spores. Not that the intention is NOT appreciated, I do appreciate the offer, But, if i offer free spores, then they are free.

great attitude man.

and extremely nice fungi.
it's so cool to know that they somewhat kinda came from McKenna.
I have to ask.. how's the potency on average? like a normal cubie, i'd imagine?
p.s. 5 shroomies for you, my friend

Very Nice!
in regards to your monotubs. I was wondering what size this tub is? I've got one pretty much just like it. Also, is that micropore tape on the tub covering holes or what is the brown tape?
are you using your bags dumped into your tub or are you spawning to it?
Again, super job. I like that strain. Love the sounds of it to "organic ecstacy" Nice.

thanks for the shrooms!!!!
i'd prefer a good rating over a spore trade thank you very much!
It is kinda cool to think it possibly had it's starts with Mckenna, yes it's very neat.
The potency is above average for a cubensis. The visuals are extreme, the body high reminds me of ecstasy, and the euphoria is overwhelming.
however, that's my experience with it on fresh wet shrooms, 21 grams wet.
otherwise, it's still just a cubensis unfortunately. It is NOT an azure/cubensis hybrid as some shops claimed at one time.
thanks again!

Fucking awesome, Jeets. Looks like one hell of grow you had going on. Can't wait to start doing stuff like that.
'Nother few months, and I'll be ready to get some PESAs going, but I don't think I'm quite ready for something as nice as you got going on quite yet.

Skeeblix, if i can do it, anyone can. It's not that difficult. It's actually easier then PFTEK cakes in all honesty.
I do know how to pasteurize and mix my own poo. HOWEVER, I am lazy, and the Texas heat is too much on my pansy ass. SO,
I order ALL of my manure products from www.mycopath.com The filter patch bags I use, also come from www.mycopath.com The order's usually run me about 120 bux for the product, and shipping.
About 40lbs of manure, 30-50 filter patch bags, and 3 of the 60cc syringes.
Of course, I have spawn ready by the time the order arrives, spawn it all up, real easy, then let it colonize, then a few weeks later I have hauls like this!
The monotubs are just a little more work, not a whole lot really. The only difference is I have to make the tub, which takes ten minutes, and is nothing but drilling holes. I put the spawn/poo mix in the tub, wrap the tub in a blanket/towel, place in my utility closet, let it colonize, then place a straight verm casing layer on it, let it colonize, and a week later they look like the pictures on page 2.
SOOO
given you can order the supplies from www.mycopath.com inside of 23 days you can have the exact same results!
it's not rocket science, and bulk neglect teks like this are WAY EASIER then caring for pftek cakes. I wouldn't be doing it if that weren't the case. I'm lazy, remember, I won't do things that take more then a few hours of effort!
You can do it! Plus, I got your PM skeeblix, prints in the mail bro.

it's a 8 gallon tub. I used some packing tape on the outside, because it cracked, I lightly twist polyfil into the holes.
The monotubs are fresh, meaning i spawn fresh poo/straw and spawn into it, my spent bags get taken outside. The bags and monotubs flush for 3 months on average, so they are pretty small in comparison to when they're first colonized.
I have thought about using my spent poo blocks in a tub. But That seems just,.... wrong.

Hey Jeetered awesome grow man, how much hpoo did you put in each bag and the monotub? Do you know which had a higher B/E the invitro bags or the monotub? Thanks a lot.

Wow, props on the (extremely) successful grow!
Also, have you had good luck with mycopath? Any delays or anything like that?

Not one SINGLE problem with mycopath. No delays. Awesome phone conversations, Cry0 is the absolute fucking man as it comes down to it, as a shroomery vendor, much props to www.mycopath.com without graham i wouldn't be shit right now. I've been using mycopath for about a year now, and not once has Cry0 failed me, not once have I had a contam, not once have a I been disappointed. Don't even think about being afraid to order, just do it, you'll thank me.

each bag has about 2lbs of hpoo/straw, each monotub has about 4lbs.
B/E as an industry standard pisses me off, coz i can keep adding water and bring my B/E up, so i do B/E by dry weight verses beginning susbtrate weight, SO FAR, B/E is best by monotub.
EVEN SO, with monotubs being best B/E, I can spawn a poo bag, and have first flush in two weeks, I can spawn a monotub, and have first flush in 3 weeks, SOOOO, for quickness, Poo bags are still my fave, start to finish in 18 days (21 including drying time and bagging)

hey jeetered I made a few bags the other day with some extra poo and spawn, I've never tried it before.
Do you worry about the yello liquid that the myc secretes in the bottom of the bags, or do you just seriously not touch them until you harvest?
I was thinking of maybe poking some small holes in the bottom to let them drain once they're fully colonized. what do you think? should I do it or just not worry?

LEAVE the liquid, it's metabolites. It's an indicator to me, that when the block sucks that stuff back up, I'm about to have a good flush. It harms nothing, don't poke holes in anything, don't drain it.

Yowzer! Jeetered, nice work! That is quite a yield! I thought I'd throw this out there: my yields are around: 1 monotub = 2 colonized filter patch bags (crumbled and cased) = quarter pound = about 120g dried. My point? monotubs are good for yields Your co2 levels are too high in yours, thus the long stems. Fan and mist more, whatch out for getting over dry. Just my 2 cents!
PS, you've got a pm :-)

Yah those tubs were transfered from my house, and left in the trunk of a car, because I'm moving, that's why they got co2 drenched. I know this, I know how to grow. You just aren't hip to my circumstances.
when left on a shelf, per usual, I never have to fan, and never have to mist.

On the topic of Mycopath, it took them almost a week to ship my order from they time they received my postal money order, but when everything did come it was packaged nice enough and it was all there (no freebies)
So how was this sysyrgy strain resurrected?

both methods work so great, i can't choose between them. I would say though, that the invitro bags produce the most the quickest.
On this grow, the bags produced about 2.2 kilo's, the tubs 4 kilo's, this was after it ran it's full course, and flushed about 6 times. The syzygy closet is over...
I will link my next logs from here. and my f+ threads.
the next ones are sOOOO exciting!!!
completely new stuff!!!

no, they flushed out 2 kilo's, and i had to start fresh ones. It gets to a point, you get tired of keeping them up, and it's more efficient to start new ones.

first i scraped some spores off the print you gave me onto an agar plate. to be honest i didnt think it would work out good.. but its one of the only ones that truly made it..
so after a few plate transfers they finally fully colonized as you can see i cut a few wedges to make another agar plate..

it looks healthy

that does look healthy!
looks REALLY tomentose, however, the new plates showing rhizo growth?
it could look tomentose (fluffy cottony) due to the age of the plate though.

I am wondering how you allow fae into the bags.... I have a computer fan blowing in a space holding about 12 bags aprox the same way you are doing, except I sterilize my bags w/ WBS hpoo and other additives and knock them up with LC.

well, filter patch bags don't need fae, the filter patch provides it, sometimes i squeeze the air out, and it in turn sucks new air in.
I would never directly inoculate hpoo,
i would inoculate grains, let it colonize, then spawn to manure in a bowl, then put in bags.

I do a bulk mix with WBS already in the bag, so I eliminate the spawning process all together....
And yes even bags need fae, if your closet door is closed your bags will not produce as well because of CO2 build up, just wondering if you had a fan to circulate the air or not

no, no reason...
you shouldn't eliminate spawning..
and no , i don't need a fan, and yes, the bags get fae,
and im not fixing what isn't broke, i've harvested my weight in dry shrooms over and over, by 8 times and i weigh almost 300lbs myself, it's only taken one year with this very method...
why would i change it?
what works for you is fine i guess...
that shit wont work for me though. 18 days from start to finish of first flush...
why complain?

Plus, I got your PM skeeblix, prints in the mail bro.
hey buddy, so thanks for the direction to the 60 cc syringe from mycopath, i was already bout to get horse poo might have to add this to the order tomorrow.
so, i have 600 ml of LC that have been growing for 4 weeks plus! can i just buy 10 of those syringes fill them all up and stick them in the fridge????? how long can i keep them there?
or should i keep them in the jar and use them when i need them
i figure i rather split them up into 10 of the syringes and store them that way!

honestly I just leave mine in the jar, if you feel it's best to split them up, by all means split them up. I don't like putting LC's in the fridge, sometimes they become frozen, sometimes they dont come out of dormancy.

Bags are for NOOBS?????
before I switched to bags, i tried every other way. I still do monotubs, BUT, very sparingly.
If it makes me a noob to do things the easiest way to get results, by all means, i am a noob then.
Whats being a noob, is doing things that are unnecessary, and things that take up way too much effort.

My payment was accepted on the 8th of November. I still haven't recieved my items and it's the 25th of November.
