some of my cakes look puffy
    #7456824 - 09/26/07 06:10 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

this is my third post today shit im totally still gettig the hang of this.

Im all finished innocculatin my cakes. I have put them to sleep. Something worries me tho a few of the cakes seem to be a little more puffy than the other ones like the rice flower puffed up kinda like cooked oatmeal or porridge i figure this happened during the sterilization stage. Is this anything to worry about or should i just chill. Im thinking that this means that some of the cakes had a little bit of steam creep under the tinfoil and lubricate the substrate a bit more.

I'd chill.  Give it 5 days or so.  You'll know soon enough if there is a problem.  My guess is that you are over analyzing and worrying too much though.  Chances are everything is fine.

Alright, your BRF is just fine. When you pressure cooked it, the steam cooked it a little bit. What happens to any other grain when you cook it?

It gets fluffy/expands.
