The original poster is a huge Hillary Clinton supporter and doesn't want anybody to know that she is a closet Ron Paul fan as well. (j/k )

Take some time to consider where he is coming from, and weigh it out vs everything that is so desirable and strong about him that you like.
He has said that working on getting rid of Roe vs Wade is low on his' Things to do Priority list. He really wants to get to getting us out of the costly nation Building, police State wars, overturning the Patriot Act, turn this economy around, and get taxes down first.
Whenever he gets around to it, he will not have the Supreme Court create a Federal Ban on abortion. That would also be unconstitutional. He states the current Federal Law is also unconstitutional, and such decisions belong to the individual states.
As an OBGYN who can be sued for negligent murder if he accidentally killed a fetus of a patient who wanted the baby, he doesn't understand the double standard on what defines life. He interprets the Constitution to see that the government has a role in protecting our rights to life. He thinks, that right to having your life protected, includes the life of those conceived. Yet, he would leave it up to each state to decide for themselves.
It really isn't an issue alone, to not vote for him over, if you like his stance on most other issues important to you. I doubt any states would actually ban abortion. If so, it would be a few and there would be plenty left to go to for one anyway. I'm pro choice and he still has my vote.

What I like about Ron Paul is how clear he is about how the government itself (through the Fed) is ruining the economy and how he wants to strenghten the dollar by returning it to a 21st century equivalent of the gold standard.
Watch this! This is your money!

If you honestly believe that a bunch of hick states in the south wouldn't outlaw abortion because of some Jesus-Freak minority the minute Roe v. Wade was struck down, you are only fooling yourself.

Should they not have a right to do that? Giving you an equal right to go to a state that does allow abortions. If someone doesnt want it in their back yard, and they vote to not allow it in their state, why should you FORCE your ideals on them?
Thats what states rights are all about. That is why we are a nation of states with state governments. So you can find a place that has the laws the fit what you want, instead of everyone having the federal government take away rights from the entire country when some group doesnt want them.

dude, if that happened, I would personally set up a foundation for hot chicks trapped in Southern states. I would pay for their passage out of there and set them up in some place like oregon or cali.
then, none of the no-abortion states would have hot chicks anymore. talk about a blow to morale
abortion prohibition would soon be repealed.

actually a lot of people told my mom to have an abortion with me for her health. Id rather of died than to have lived my life without her in it. Id rather also die instead of being born to a shitty torn apart family such as what happens when teenagers dont abort.

i'd be okay with being shot tomorrow. my life hasn't exactly been wonderful, actually it's been one pile of shit and suffering on top of another, and i grew up in a nice little suburb with "supposedly" loving parents (ahem). and still: suffering upon suffering upon suffering. If one more shitty horrible traumatic life fucking event happens to me i'll do it myself. if one more goddamn asshole treats me like a pile of putrid shit for whatever random reason he's come up with to ruin my life for the foreseable future (and this seems to be a repetitive theme) i swear to god it will be the end. Not to mention things I've done to bring suffering into the world myself, which I consider a crime. so yeah. i would completely accept being shot by my mother.
sometimes i envy the aborted. As far as i can tell, i didn't mind not existing in the first place, and i'm sure i won't mind it when it reoccurs.
Of course, I also feel like I've lived my life to the fullest and been as happy as possible under the circumstances. So I'm satisfied with what I have accomplished, which is another reason why I am prepared to die.
I have a generally sunny disposition and a feeling of hope and pride in humanity. This is a lie I tell my mind to stave off insanity brought on by complete and utter despair.

abortion is a big issue for me as well. in my eyes, it is absurd to consider the conglomeration of cells immediately following conception as being a human life. it is live tissue that has the potential to become a life, but at that point, it's not a human. i don't think i could support a candidate as anti-abortion as ron paul.
also, i tend to have socialist leanings. i think government intervention can most certainly have a positive effect. institutionalized healthcare has been proven to be effective in many nations. I do not mind paying high taxes, so long as i know my tax money is going towards beneficial social programs and not stupid fucking military occupations we have no business being a part of - in fact, i would vote for and celebrate higher taxes if it meant that my fellow citizens don't have to worry about being evicted from their homes or having their means of transportation repossessed because they couldn't afford rent/bills after an unfortunate illness in the family took their next 3 paychecks.
ron paul seems very intelligent, and i do agree with a certain amount of his platform, however his views on social policy are the exact opposite of mine, and that is simply something i cannot overlook.

No, I dont think they should be able to do that.
If Mississippi passed a law tomorrow making blacks second class citizens, I wouldn't think that should be enforced. I'm sorry, but just because you can find a group of people big enough to get a law passed, does not make it a good law.
A dumb fucking idea is a dumb fucking idea, no matter if you have 10 people endorsing it, or 10,000.
I am absolutely and without compromise against any law that puts a restriction on what someone may do with their own body, whether it be putting drugs into it or taking a fetus out of it.
Fuck.
Those.
Laws.
