Xbox 360 to my computer

So I'm probably buying a 360 within the next week or two, and want to hook it up to my computer. I've already found a cable I can use to connect the 360 to the monitor right here. The problem is the audio. I don't know how I'd turn the red and white audio cables that come from the 360 into something my computer speakers could use, as they don't have ports for this. Any advice about where I could find a connector for sure a thing or how to make this work?

just one red and one white?
i have a cable sitting here that has a stereo plug on one end and 1 red and 1 white on the other end....sounds exactly what you need.
however, i get the feeling you will have to "convert" the red and white into a stereo plug, go down to radio shake and tell them that....
then you should be able to hook this stereo plug into your "mic in", might be a bit tricky to use if you don't have a good sound card.
i myself have a nice tv tuner, and can easily plug that sound into that.
edit: althow the only time ive ever actually done this is when i hooked my xbox into my tv tuner like i would a tv. Getting "just" the audio could be tricky, also the video wasn't very good.

that little kit you have their, if you get a decent creative sound card that "optical" cable would have a place to go.

So I found the adapters necessary to hook up the 360 to my computer speakers. I know I could buy a new sound card or something fancy, but I'm tight on money and the adapters are like $10-$15. I guess my only question now is which is higher quality, VGA or s-video? I'm guessing using the VGA to DVI adapter would make no difference as far as image quality, just let me plug it into my monitor's VGA slot?

s-video might be more convenient unless you have 2 VGA inputs on your monitor

I use these speakers. It's a pain in the ass changing chords on my monitor all the time, but it looks so much better on this LCD than my shitty tv.
