How many plants will forfill my annual need?

Ideally, I want to be growing about a pound a year for personal consumption. I smoke half an ounce per month, so this would give me a little surplus to eat as well.
I want to use coco as my grow medium after reading about the various pros and cons, as I'm not going to invest in more advanced hydro/aeroponics feeding systems.
Furthermore, I want to be growing 70-80% Sativa, 20-10% Hybrids and 10% Indica for the various spectrum of delights my favorite plant gives me. Taking in the average yields offered for Sativas, Hybrids and Indica's how many plants should I be growing a year to get my target produce weight of buds? Stem/leaf shake hash is an added bonus, but something I want to keep seperate from my calculations.
It's where my research draws a blank. I don't believe a novice gardener can achieve the stated yields seed banks claim for their strains, so what's a more realistic goal? Ideally I want to have just one light type as that'll save on wiring hassle and multiple transformer ballasts, not looking for anything fancy, just something that is good and easy to maintain.

its an impossible question to answer accurately... u shouldnt rely on the yields given from the seedbanks...
personally if i was aiming for a yield of 500g in a single grow, id probably go for 10-15 small indica plants (small, meaning i wouldnt veg them for long) but i would be using two 600w hps lights to achieve that... so my guess is that u would probably need to do two crops with a single light... but it all depends on strain, how big your plants are, wattage of lamp and probably most importantly your skills! i guess if u need to ask these questions then u have never grown weed before...
too many variables really...

Nope, still haven't had the experience of growing my own unfortunatly. What I'm trying to find out is what annual yeilds can be obtained with a closet, or a 6 foot square shed.

if u do it right u can set yourself up with enough smoke for an entire year in one grow... better than growing all year round IME... less work and much less risk.
no one can tell u exactly what to expect without having a fully detailed breakdown of all your eqipment, strains, etc...
