San Pedro
    #7452986 - 09/25/07 06:56 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

Ordered a cutting off ebay a while back, got it to root, then I cut it into 3, and got all the pieces to root( this was over the course of a couple years)
Well, then I scored a fatty foot and a half Pedro from Lowe's for only $10( it was effin sweet)

My question is this, I want to start new cuttings and continually expand my plant number, but I was wondering if JUST cutting off a tip is a good idea..

And most importantly, WHAT is the best time of the year to root them... Over winter, indoors, or outside, in the summer.
As of now, we are in fall so I want to make a cutting but I am worried it might be the totally wrong time of the year.

Also, all of you that have Lowe's, they get in One or two san pedros with each "large shipment of variety cactus" so keep your eyes open. I asked if they would special order and they said no.

SO to sum it up, what has your luck been with cuttings?

Also to note, one of my cuttings I laid sideways, and it has been rooted and is still green but has not pupped up any new ones and It's been a while. Any info is welcome.
