Too hot in Flo Rida? How long?
    #7452709 - 09/25/07 05:35 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

I recently put out a fully colonized grow bag of rye with the mazatapec strain in an outdoor patch. I loosely followed the instructions of one of the teks on here or whatever, using mostly soaked hay and black kow. I live in Florida, temps in the 80's now, but the spot i have them in is cooler. Its almost swamp-like, though the ground is not saturated and does not flood. Plus, the ground is like muck though and has tons of rotten leaves on top. I figured with any luck, if they ever do get going, they may spawn forever there (lots of others do). Like i said I dug a little patch and did the layer deal. Its been over a week, been checking on it, the mycelium or whatever, the white stuff, seems to be still alive and fine, and maybe even colonizing the manure and hay. How long do I have before I see some action? I'm friggin dying. There isn't much sunlight, but it certainly gets some. Also, is it possible that they might keep growing there given the type of ground (muck isn't far from manure). Do they only grow in manure in the wild?

Thanks a lot. Wes

I guarantee you that "Flo Rida" isn't too hot. It's prime weather for most strains of Psilocybe Cubensis.
