Plants and Dust
    #7452482 - 09/25/07 04:31 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

I live in an area that is close to a dirt road. The dust from this road has coated my beautiful, budding female plants. How would I go about ridding the dust from these plants before harvest.Should I just spray them really well with a bottle sprayer? Before or after harvest? Any ideas out there?.

Get yourself a pile of brush up to guard them or something. Pray for many rains and no mold.

Ok,so my next question would be,does smoking the dust covered plant material have a negative effect on the body systems?

Organic, you think plenty of rain or spraying water would rid the plants of most of the dust?

Way out in the country, the problem is,it is a state park area, dusted all weekend.I ask this because some kind of weed recently was floating around australia and maybe here, they said it had some kind of dust or something to weigh it down for more money. It was causing some respitory ailments in people.Stupid ass people do stupid ass shit, private use for this, and that is the only reason I grew it.

Damn man that has to suck, it might be easier to get off when its dry, or do a water cure and that might remove alot of it.

Adding shit to weed (especially harmful stuff) for weight is no good, it gives even a more bad view on MJ :nonono: Those are the type of dealers that need to be in jail, and i dont think that of many dealers. Only the ones who are intentionally trying to fuck you.

Im not exactly sure how watercures work, but im pretty sure you soak it for a few days.

Does not sound good, maybe I'll spray the hell out of it a day before harvest with intermittent sprays until then.I probably should have sprayed the plants everyday in the evening before bed.If anyone else lives in the same situation, this might be good advice. It was the only place I seeded.I will be more careful next time, and wouldn't you know it is the best plants I have ever grown.    YET!:smirk:

Doesnt sound good? Water curing is supposed to be really good, im sure someone here knows how to do it, it was on overgrow, thc is not water soluble.

Ive done a water cure on some of my buds and it works great. The weed is completely smooth, no harshness at all. Also you wont get mold if you dry it proper right out of the water. This is how its done:

Take some buds and put them in water for 7 days (or 48 hours in warm water for a slightly less harsh smoke) and change the water every day. They must be completely submerged almost the whole time except for when you change the water. Then just take it out and fan dry it or use a dehydrator.

Also, do not agitate the weed otherwise the tricromes will fall off and you will be left with less potent weed. Not much less but still less. It is also better to do this with freshly harvested, undried weed because dry weed has a higher chance for more tricromes to fall off. But dry weed will still work fine though.

The reason this works is that THC, and the other cannabinoids, aren't water soluble. But a lot of the other shit in the plant that makes it harsh to smoke, such as fertilizer, chlorophyll, and whatever else, is water soluble. So through osmosis, the bad shit is taken out and the THC and other things are left behind, leaving a much better weed. The weed does lose almost all smell and flavor though, which can be a downside for some people.

Helge, if you think this is such bullshit, then just take a couple grams of your homegrown, and try it. What have you got to lose? I assure you that it works very well.

Heres a quote from shroomery.

I could see this being ideal for your dust problem.
