A mycobag PF tek, sortof, with additions

Here's my recipe:
2 Parts Verm
1/2 Part Whole brown rice 1/2 part Millet/oat/canary grass mix 1/4 part Milled flax seed (organic)
1 Part water
I didn't prepare the millet any special way, just put it in the bags with everything else. I don't have a PC, will I have to tyndalize everything or will steaming them for an hour and a half be enough?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you should have soaked the millet and grains in water for 24 hours first than rinsed off real well. And if your using BRF your going to need a PC for 100% sterility. Spawn generally has to be sterilized (250 degrees) while bulk substrates only need pasteurizing (170 degrees).
Also if you have millet why not soak it in water for 24 hours and just use that, wont need verm unless your using BRF.

I mainly was interested in using different nutrients to help growth. Why does the millet have to be soaked? Is it to germinate endospores, or to help growth somehow? The millet I have says it is "air cleaned" to remove all the dust and such on the outside of the grain, and it looks shiny, so I don't think starches will be too much of a problem.
I don't have a PC, so I was planning to tyndalize the bags to make sure that everything is nice and sterile, I'll be steaming them 4 at a time for an hour and a half, then waiting 24h in between the next two steamings.
The verm was mainly for moisture retention, since the whole rice and millet probably don't hold it all that well.

OP: Unsoaked grains have dormant endospores which can survive a pressure cooker. Uncooked grains' dormant endospores can easily survive being pasteurized. I'm guessing you're going to have a lot of problems with contamination. Also, with steaming your mycobag, I'm guessing the filter patch is going to get saturated and likely lead to contamination. I mean, this is all about experimentation, however my personal opinion is that you're going to be experimenting with contaminations and not Psilocybe Mycelium.
ButterWeasels: PF Tek Jars work fine with just a boiling water bath, so BRF doesn't need a PC for "100% sterility".

i wouldnt know i've never boiled but its nice to have a PC tell you, "hey, all 24 of your halfpints are sterile, wait for us to cool"
