You need to boil your rye until the first kernals pop open, it usually takes me around 20-30 minutes on a low simmer. Then you need to strain and let it sit and cool for 10 minutes or so. Then you can load up your jars.

it's just fine, you don't even need the coffee, it's just a different way to add some additional micro-nutrients to promote colonization. But it's a non-discriminate promoter of colonization and will also make contaminates more inviting so I always use it sparingly in soak waters.

8oz to a gallon or so of soak-water is fine. :shrug:

okay not a problem.. i just wanted to make sure cause once i usually get my mid set someone comes along and confuses me...lol.. so tonight i will clean all my gear and get ready to do this soak.. i will use 1-2 gallons of water and use 1 cup of coffee regular strength or use 1-2 cups of cofee light strength to where it looks like tea instead of dark not able to see through..
