Hit a deer

My lady friend and I spent Sunday back home to have dinner with my family and hang out around town, shoot some disc golf, and chill in the park. My little brother took us to chill with some friends I haven't seen in years. We caught up on some stuff, chilled out, smoked a few bowls, and had a great time. We had to get back to our place because she had to work the next morning.
We live about an hour and a half away in the country. On the way to our place there is a closer exit off the highway that takes you along some back roads but gets you there at about the same time. I debated taking this exit but decided to stick with the route I knew, which was only 13 miles down the highway. We pass the first exit and about 5 miles later a deer decided to take a breather in the middle of the two lanes.
It was about 2 in the morning, roads are dead except for some trucks. Even a few under the speed limit doesn't give enough time to react like I wish I could have. I swerved to the left, the deer did the same, clipped his front with my passenger side. It was too late, though. I had lost control and went flying into the median. Fortunately there were no cars around me, but in the opposing lanes was a semi. I managed to stop the car just short of those lanes and stop my bowels just short of emptying into my pants. People say they see their lives flash before their eyes in a situation like this. All I saw was a tunneled vision of deer, grass, dust, TRUCK!
Adrenaline pumping. All body parts accounted for. Minimal front-end damage. Flat tire. I struggle to get the car back onto the shoulder in time for my radiator to piss itself out onto the road.
The sheriff that found us was very helpful. He said it was the 3rd deer hit he'd been to that night. Said the youth deer hunt had just started and those little douchebags had been rustling up the deer, creating all sorts of havoc on the road.
I was fine from the whole ordeal, besides the car damage. My friend is recovering from some nasty whiplash with some good muscle relaxers. Now I'll shell out $500 I don't have to make all the repairs that are needed.
I've been trying my hardest to find good in every situation these days. It's tough, but it works. Negativity isn't something I really need at this point in my life. However, I would like to say that I have a newfound hatred for hunters. Do it for food if it's a necessity. Otherwise every hunter can stick their rifle up their ass and pull the trigger for all I care.

Its the female deer that got them up all hours of the night. Its the rut right now so they are all out fighting and fucking.
The hunt just corresponds with the rut is all.

I hit a wild boar once.

You only had to pay 500 for damages? Mine's around 2800. Mine's all aesthetic.

I have comprehensive coverage with a $500 deductible. The damage will likely be much more than that.

One of my friends in VA GOT hit by a deer. It was a big 13 pointer, he was driving down some back roads home late one night when out of the conner of his eye, WHAM. The deer hit his front drivers side fender, its head went into the windshield, and its body wraped around the side of the car. It died imediatly, so it proceded to shit and piss all over the back of his car.
He was going about 45, driving his brand new Kia. He was immensely lucky, the deer was about the size of the car, and the antlers came no where near him. It was all body damage, but still $800 worth.

Apparently my car is totaled. I got the call from my agent today but I still have to talk to her about it. I see this not working out well for me.

That sucks royally, Back in the late 70,s I was with some friends on a farm to market road, and killed a mans cow in the road. Had to get my truck towed about 70 miles back home, that put a end to our partying.

Right, dude? If it weren't for people hunting them deer populations would get out of control. You should be thanking the hunters for hitting those little douchebag deer :-p

Pretty sure it died somewhere on the side of the highway. I don't eat deer.
Looks like I'll be getting that diesel VW I've been wanting for a while.

I've never hit a deer, but had a deer hit me. Doing 70 up GA400 toward Dahlonega, out of the corner of my eye I saw a deer in the median running toward my car. I watched him for a second in awe: he was bookin. Then he plows into the front quarterpanel and knocks me over into the slow lane. I managed to keep it on the road and looked in my rearview: he did 3 end-over-end flips, landed in the road, and got up and ran off into the woods (probably to die). Freaked my shit and ruined my alignment, but my little rubber Fiero bounced right back. No dents or dings. But I had to hold the steering wheel at a 90 degree angle to drive straight.
Nearby, on Highway 9 south of Dawsonville, a possum got caught in my spoiler and ripped it off the car. Then a bird dive-bombed the windshield. I came to the conclusion that the animals in North Georgia are fucking suicidal.

I'm sorry you hit a deer. I'm more sorry that the deer got hit by your car.
Men destroys the earth and runs animals out of thier home enviroment and terrorize animals for pleasure and greed and when animals get in the way it's their fault.
I can't help but hope that God has a special punishment for those people and I feel compassion and hope that someday these creatures will find peace and rest from violence and harm. They are more worthy of life than us.

terrorize animals for greed?
we need to control their populations because we are the supreme predators, we are animals. with less space for them....means we need to keep populations in check.....there are more deer nowadays because they adapt so well.
jonathen u strike me as a PETA freakazoid that would take a human life before an animals.

Why just leave it for dead on the side of the road even if you dont eat deer its not hard to find someone who does and at least that way the deer doesnt go to waste. Im a hunter buy the way and your comments about only hunting for food if its nessisary sucked. I know many hunters who only eat stuff they kill because they hate farm raised animals.Huntings been a part of human life since we existed and we have every right to do it responisibly. People who never leave the city and have never eaten something they killed or harvested must live sad lifes. If you hunt mushrooms im shure you know the feeling of how great it is that you are eatting you found its the same for a hunter about the deer he killed.----Sean
