If a 2"-3" deep bulk with cow dung and straw was used, how big would you expect the mushrooms to get if they were in their optimum growth parameters. If they are going to be small does that mean that the pins will mature faster than if they were going to grow tall.

depends on the strain i would imagine, with me the pins that mature quicker than the others are usualy the biggest ones

Just did a hpoo for the second time, first time a failure, but this time got 80g+ fruits.

assuming they had the optimal nutrition, lighting, temperature, filtered air exchange, etc. there would still be wild variance between strains and, in the case of a multispore inoculation there are hundreds, if not thousands, of various sub-strains competing.

Or, in other words, the only way to confidently predict mature characteristics is to isolate and clone them...
