okay just got done boiling my rye for 10 minutes and i ran the grain through the colander and shook and what not but now after that is done i touch the rye and its slimy... note that i used one gallon of water and one gallon of light coffee.. should i rinse the grains or leave as is ????? i dont wanna wash the coffee out of the grains... also, should the rye be totally dry to the touch or should it have moisture on it ???thanks

They should be air fluffed until all the steam has evaporated off them, this is how they're dried after the boil...
As for the coffee, I've only ever put a couple ounces in soak water (maybe a gallon or two, not measured). Too much coffee diluted into the soak water is counter productive and can speed contaminations...
Either way, the rye grains should be dry enough to the touch that if placed on a piece of toilet paper, they neither stick no leave a wet mark.

did you rinse the grain realy well first?

To each quart jar I usually add a hand full of moist, not wet, Coir. This seems to help both colonization time and control excess moisture. For instance, once rinsed I load directly into quarts and immediately pressure cook.
