CO2 question

i have a pretty large rubbermaid FC with a walgreens humidifier and a hose running to a hole about 3/4 to the top of the FC, and then i have a couple of holes near the top on 2 corners of my FC for air to escape from...my question is, would that be sufficiant to keep CO2 from building up on the bottom since its heavier than air?

put little holes around the bottom but if you have sufficent air ways now its fine the air exchange will still happen regardless of weight.

You have any pics you could post? I've been using shotgun FC's and am about to build me a PMP. Really been wanting to step up my setup! Went looking for some humidifiers tonight at Wal-Mart, but they didn't have any that I liked or was looking for. Thanks man!

ok..thanks. I'll check some more. I've been searching all day and haven't really found anything too great. They are either more complex than what I want to do (martha setups) or the PMP, which I am in the process of doing. I'm gonna keep looking though!

I tried to solve this by doing this

The tube is full of holes done by a thin needle.
I have yet to try it out though. My cakes are at day 7 colonizing.
edit: oh and yeah, those holes in the FC was very fun to polyfill indeed....

An update:
I tried to push some water in through the tube but it turned out that the holes were too small. Solved this by using the backside of the needle (not pinhead needle!) and flaming it hot, and pushed bigger holes through the tube. They are probably about 0.5mm. This worked perfect and I got a fountain in my FC. So if water can get in, CO2 will definitely be able to come out. This setup might also work as a rehydrator by just flipping the pump and connecting it to a water bottle (as I did while testing it). Should get that perlite nice and wet without squirting water from above risking to get them cakes wet.
I'll update you on this when I got them cakes birthed.

CO2 won't run out of holes in the bottom. It's widly misunderstood that CO2 is heavier than air, and many growers think it will run out like water if only there's holes in the bottom. The fact is, the CO2 mixes with the air inside the tub and raises its CO2 content. You have to exchange ALL the air in the tub to get rid of it. I simply drill lots of holes in the fruiting chamber, and let nature take care of it. RR
