no matter what mood i am in...I can never get sick of them. I swear if I am depressed I love it, happy I love it, tripping I love it even more. It is a shame i missed their concert because I was on vacation. My favorite band atm.

I just finished Good News for People Who Love Bad News.
It's one of those albums like Dark Side of the Moon that I can put on and listen to from start to finish.

Had tickets at the garden, but moved out of NY for 2 months to scout out Chicago and missed it. I gotta catch their next show.
I've probably listened to The World at Large 200 times on my ipod. I can listen to them anytime of year.

I jumped on the Float On bandwagon and still have yet to see why everyone gets such a chubby over them

Relaxing, yet thought inspiring. Just a really different kind of sound than anything else.

Because you jumped on the bandwagon at the wrong time.
I love Modest Mouse, fucking awesome. I only saw them once with a limited set time, but they didn't play much shit from before Good News at all. It was disappointing. Still good though.

lots of people jumped on the float on bandwagon...
which i thought was cool, because modest mouse deserves recognition anyways...i think so highly of them!
really tho i didn't enjoy "good news" as much as their other ones...it definitely has some jewels on it, and is a good cd overall, but i prefer the ones before it...it is probably because of the infinite memories i have made to their other cds over time..
i don't even know how many times i have listened to the moon and antarctica all the way through...i always jam that while tripping as well...
talking shit about a pretty sunset always reminds me of coming down from tripping....that beautiful afterglow mixed with that song is perfect for me...

I still need to listen to their earlier stuff before really forming an opinion
I enjoyed precisely half of good news and loathed the other half

If you think The Moon and Antarctica is their second worst album, or that only hearing that limits your knowledge of good Modest Mouse, then you're damn crazy.

I have listened to all of them. As far as The Moon and Antarctica, I wouldn't say it's their best work, but I would feel confident giving it to someone as their first Modest Mouse album and have it be a good representation of what Modest Mouse is about.
As for me, my order would be:
This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About Sad Sappy Sucker The Lonesome Crowded West The Moon and Antarctica We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank Building Nothing out of Something Good News for People Who Love Bad News
I have a feeling that the newest one will climb it's way up the list with more listening. I also am quite fond of Good News, but also not so fond. It has some great tracks, but it has some weak tracks, which is annoying. That said, I thoroughly enjoy all of them.

Tiny Cities Made of Ashes is an amazing song. I liked it, heard them play it live, and now I love it. I always like hearing shit like The Fruit That Ate Itself and then listening to We Were Dead, such a difference.

I've been a fan since lonesome was released. I've loved them every day sinceI first heard them. Truckers Atlas is the best song. Driving home spun out of my mind, I listened to it for 2 hours straight.
