soulja boy - is he serious?
    #7445448 - 09/23/07 07:52 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

has anyone heard his album? its the funniest thing I've ever heard. During my "Shitty" mushroom trip on friday, before things got "shitty", we put on the latest Shpongle album. My friend clay who burned the CD threw in a surprise at the end. Its was Soulja Boy with his song "yah". It was the funniest thing in the world.

Basically, its just soulja boy saying "yah trick, yaw. Blagabooga bah wooga waaahhh."

Listening to that song made me think "how the hell did he record this, then play it back to himself, and then think 'yeah, this goes on the album for sure!'?"

God damn...

He also did a cover of "throw some Ds on it" in which he goes up to his teacher with his report card, and asks her to throw some Ds on it. Essentially, he makes the worst music I've ever heard being excreted out of a speaker.

Soulja Boy is a lyrical genius
he identifies himself with his community
he advocates for the voice of the ghetto
with such lines as:
"Wah me crank dat Robocop"
Robocop is a metaphor for the alleviation of struggle that the poor must face
"Supersoak dat ho"
many impoverish women have an inadequate supply of water

dude some of the shit out there claiming to be art is just insane...

i was just talking about this with a buddy the other day...we were talking about that new 50cent cd...

we both mentioned how we realize that yeah these guys are trying to make a buck...understandable...BUT they are still calling themselves ARTISTS and that comes with its own expectations and definitions as well...some of this shit being released to get retarded play in clubs and on the radio is very far from art....

ALSO, on that cd 50 has a song with justin timberlake on it...he also has at least one song with eminem on it....does anybody else see the problem with this?!  first off justin timberlake was in the fuckin mickey mouse club as a young teenager, while some of the dudes on the cd including eminem were gang bangin and selling/using drugs at the same age...second off eminem used to SLAM justin timberlake back a few years ago, and now he is on the same cd just so they can make big bucks???

i mean i still love eminem, but damn...i think its a shame...

sorry to go so far off with this one, but i just had to get it all out!

YAHHH bitch yahh!!

Lol

I've heard his songs, i listen to them in the car and stuff. But I listen to rap music in general normally..Just like the rhythm. Anyone can argue that it's not music. Maybe it's not, but I like listening to it. Don't know why. Lol. Maybe it's just what I grew up listening to. I wasn't in a bad neighborhood or anything.

Soulja boys songs are...stupid really. but they do have a nice flow and rhythm to them.

Wow that was funny...but yeah my sister loves the soulja boy Superman song. It's pretty big down here, pretty much everyone knows the dance and I suppose if anything has a 'tight beat' it's a hit nowadays

Shame

honestly I don't understand how retarded pieces of shit like him even get famous...its just damn wrong. Its part of the retarded hip-hop generation and its taking over. Listening to that music will make you much more stupid then any drug.

"If we could sniff or swallow something that would, for five or six hours each day, abolish our solitude as individuals, atone us with our fellows in a glowing exaltation of affection and make life in all its aspects seem not only worth living, but divinely beautiful and significant, and if this heavenly, world-transfiguring drug were of such a kind that we could wake up next morning with a clear head and an undamaged constitution - then, it seems to me, all our problems (and not merely the one small problem of discovering a novel pleasure) would be wholly solved and earth would become paradise." - Aldous Huxley

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity. ~ Albert Einstein

my spirit as was before: ascetic.”
