Does anyone else agree?

All i care about is peace, love and happiness that others around me experince on a daily basis. I think we lose sight of the fact that humans are more fragile than anyother animal because emotions get in our way. It is sad, that while being the most intellegent animals to roam this 4 billion year old world, we cant learn to live in harmony and peace with one another. It is sad that money and material posessions have taken precidence over eachothers emotions and mental well being. That was my two cents thanks for listening and hopefully agreeing that this world is a harsh and cruel place where people need to stick together and fight for love and peace. Let me know if you agree or disagree!!!

Yes, very sad indeed.

Great post! I agree with you except...I don't believe Love and Peace can be "fought" for, unless you mean it metaphorically.
A good qoute from I-don't-know-who is "Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity".

My personal favorite poet (Neil Peart) once wrote of modern man "He's noble enough to know what's right, but weak enough not to choose it..."

As long as there are differences and disagreements and conflict of religion, sadly the world will never be able to be a completly peaceful place to live. It's all a good idea, peace in the world, but I strongly believe it's simply not possible.

I don't think total peace can exist in a world of polarity, either... I was referring to the domination of materialism. I think it is possible to transcend our present worship of money and power to live in a more harmonic community where the materials are shared equally between all humans. Call me crazy but as long as you think materialism will always rule, it is ruling you.

Yes my friend We live in a very sick world today. But again, This is nothing new. The whole century's been frought with sickness. The 20th that is. 2 world wars, korea, vietnam and all the others. Kids today laugh at us older folks who lived through the late 60's and early 70's, but at least we "tried to do shit about it". As of late there's been a lot of "giving up". The difference back then was the level of intelligence of our society. We've gone backwards, not fowards! I must not despair though, I've a 6 year old who'll be a generation ahead from most of you. Let's pray for change.
