Yeah, I think I knew he was dead. I remember hearing about it a year or two ago maybe.

How long ago was his death?

He was a funny bastard. A lot of people didn't dig him, but I say those people are prudes who couldn't get into his blunt style.

I watched Back To School the other day... fuckin' hilarious, even if he does play the same character in every movie he's in...

Yeah, three years sounds right.

R.I.P. Rodney! For what it's worth, you've got my respect!

Rodney Dangerfield was the Man...wasn't his last role The Devil in Lil' Nicky?

God, I fuckin' HAAAATE Adam Sandler. Talk about playing the same character over and over:rolleyes:

;-)

While Adam Sandler does suffer from the same weakness, he has had some good movies where he plays relatively unique characters.

In his defense, Little Nicky was his very worst movie, and was just fucking pathetic.

Check out "Punch Drunk Love" for a unique Adam Sandler role, or "Spanglish." Both are excellent.

Those don't count, man, because they are ACTUAL movies! ;-)

Those movies got good reviews from my friends, so they are on my moderatley long "to see" list.

Well, I only like "actual" movies...

50 First Dates was really good too, even though he plays the generic Adam Sandler psyche in that one.

I agree, 100%.

Norm was funny on SNL's Weekend Update. He shouldn't be allowed in movies at all.

Rob Schneider, for some reason, rides Sandler's coat tails into a lot of flicks. He does alright as secondary characters, but he should not be allowed into lead roles. No exceptions.

I felt the same way about Will Ferrell before Stranger Than Fiction. Secondaries, okay. Give him a lead and he'll ruin the movie. BUT, Stranger Than Fiction kicked ass, and gave Ferrell a chance to prove himself as a credible actor. I look forward to more unique roles from him in the future.

Hell yeah, Stranger Than Fiction surpassed my expectations with what Will Ferrell could do.

I did like Dirty Work, however. Norm MacDonald pulled that one off. Kinda like a "Joe Dirt" type surpise of a movie being good; Not nearly as good AS Joe Dirt, though.

I'm sick of the "You can do it!" guy.

Yeah, Joe Dirt wasn't bad.

David Spade has a really hard time shining without Chris Farley, but that one was pretty okay.

The Christopher Walken addition really helped it work, though. I mean, Christopher Walken can save almost any movie...

Joe Dirt was as good as LoTR Trilogy...I'm being dead serious.

That's not saying much, man...

:hides from the LotR geeks:

Wait, now that I think about it, the LotR geeks think the movies sucked too... (Because they didn't live up to the books...)

When you see a Movie that is derived from other source material, do you compare it at all (to the source material), or try to objectively view the movie on its own merits?

I didn't know he died until I saw a story on BBC about his wife suing someone.

I seen it on CNN. I smoked a bowl for him that day, if I remember correctly.
