Waiting on pins........
Hey guys, I just wanted to get some opinions and/or advice on my cakes that I have in my FC right now. My set up is a shotgun terrarium (to which I covered some of the holes with tape) and there are still about 25 holes on each side. The temp is 77F and RH is 99%. I put the 5 cakes in the FC last Sunday, so it's been almost a week now. I've been fanning at least three times a day, mist the sides of the FC, and spray the air above the cakes so the water lightly mists the cakes. I'm not saying that I'm having any troubles yet. There are no signs of any contams. I saw growth of new mycelium on about day 3 of being in the FC. I did dunk and roll the cakes after birthing, and I also let the cakes stay in the jars for about a week after full colonization. I just want to know if things are looking right, ok, not so ok... Should I be seeing any pins yet? I incubated them in my closet in a box at 80F. For the first couple of days in the FC, I misted the cakes pretty good. I've seen some people say not to mist the cakes directly and some have said that it's ok. As of now, the cakes look like they have all these little small balls or knots of mycelium on them. Perhaps i'm not fanning enough??? This is my first grow so I can't compare it to anything really, other than posts/pics on here. I've got about five other casing waiting to go into some other FC's. Those are all going good too. I just patched my first one last night and have a couple more that I will need to patch today. I digress, sorry....So, can you guys please give me some feedback on the pics of my cakes? I started my grow on 8/15 and this is where they are five weeks later. I've got ten more brf/verm jars that i will be casing in the next couple of days when they finish colonizing. Also, all jars/casings are B+. Thanks in advance guys!

Sorry about the one picture that is turned side ways. I forgot to rotate it before saving it. I'll be posting more pics over the next couple days as this progresses. Hopefully they will be pics of pins! If i've left anything out as far as conditions or set up, please let me know and I'll add it.

HighC....thanks bro! After about 30+ views, finally someone got back to me. One more thing, what about misting at this point? Mycelium doesn't really like water that much does it? As far as being sprayed directly on it I mean.

I thought the same thing at first, I'm guessing those were fully colonized jars before the dunk and roll. So contamination is unlikely. If the fruiting conditions remain, he should see pins within the next 3 days.

It's from high CO2 levels. You need to increase your air exchange. RR

about misting as long as you do your dunk and roll you will be fine.... your cakes shouldnt need more water then what they take in, in those 24 hours or dunkin.

Yes, they were fully colonized before birthing. I even let them stay in the jars for a week after full colonization. I will increase the FAE. Also, RR...is this going to be a major harm or do you think they will rebound? Like I said, it's my first grow and still learning. Thanks again!

RR...so as long as I increase FAE, then do you think they will be ok considering all other conditions remain the same? If they don't come back, I'll just chalk it up to rookie lesson learned. But, if I can save them and make them come back then that would be ideal. Just let me know what you think. Thanks again!
