damn these grew fast as hell, they're pretty decent size and the veils are starting to tear. I could harvest but I wanna take some prints. Checkout the areas that I circled.
[/url]
the one I marked with a 1 has like a cleft lip type deal, even when it was smaller, a small portion of it broke off from the veil and curled up to the top, but it looks like in extra little chunk of cap.
the one I marked with a 2 is actually 2 different mushrooms that had the caps grow together. That's got a little cleft lip thing going on too.
Anyway, I'm going to try and biopsy one of these and put it into some honey and water solution I sterilzed.

That's incredible. Make sure and dunk that guy after your flush. He'll be so dry his tonsils will be farting dust.

I advise putting some water into a bowl, sit the cake into the bowl right into the FC for the duration of the first flush, and then remove it after 1st flush.

Wouldn't this be kinda contam prone? I know cakes are pretty contam resistant but I don't want any mold growing, not saying you are wrong. But you think this would help them fruit bigger or are you thinking this flush dry the cake out too much to fruit again? I've read on here about injecting water right into the cake. What do you think of that? This flush is pretty much done, but like I said I'm taking prints. But I'd still like to hear what you think for future refrence.

you didn't put that cake in the FC a week late, you put it in there at the right time, the other one that isn't doing much was a week early, all the old timers on here are always stressing waiting a week after full colonization before putting in FC. you just did what you were supposed to do, and i bet there would be more threads like this if everyone started waiting a week or so after full colonization. or i could just be an idiot.

Very awesome! I've yet fruit off of a cake, only used them as spawn to coir. I plan on fruiting off one or two cakes just for the hell of it when they're ready. Hope I get something like that.
Those just dunked and rolled in verm? Pitty I can't find course verm here.
Your humidifier is obviously working well for you. Have you tried putting it below your FC? So that the vapor has to go up? It may help if the hole is for drainage from water polling. May even have to refill it much less.
Keep us updated on that beautiful cake.

no I did wait a week after the whole jar was white til I birthed them, this one the thread is about just took a little longer to fully colonize then the rest.
The rest aren't really fruiting, guessing it's bad genetics or something.

And here's a pic of the cakes I have atm. If you notice the cake right next to the one with the nice pinset has no pins at all. The one with the nice pins was inoculated at the same time, but birted a little over a week later.
to me that sounds like it was just left there for an extra week...my jars almost always colonize in the same amount of time, that is when they are all the same...species, substrate, etc... but i bet if you wait an extra week on your next grow you will see similar results.

Yep just a dunk and roll. Also yes I did used to have my humidifier on the floor next to my fc. But the condensation build up would weigh down the hose, pool up, clog up and not allow any into the FC.
