Jars Almost Done Colonizing
    #7439893 - 09/22/07 09:46 AM (16 years, 4 months ago)

I have 5 B+ cubensis jars colonizing on my shelf right now and I belive a few of them are almost at 100 percent. I was wondering if when the jars are fully colonized, should I leave the cakes in the jar untill the primordia start pinning or should I birth them and dunk & roll them.

Also, is it possible to dunk and roll after the pins have already appeared. And how will I know when the top of the cake is done colonizing since i can't see the top.

don' dunk & roll after the pins come cuz you will knock them off and disturb was is suppose to be simulating nature.

i've waited until primordia appear and it had no negative effects just don't allow them to become huge pins, this also means no rolling but a possible dunk.

when you don't wait you can bothh dunk and roll as there are no pins to disturb. never dunk more than 48 hours.

when the jars are fully colonized wait a week before doing anything this is to let mycelium really lock in on substrate. ABout pins some times you will not even see pins.......if your cake is a little dry pins might not show themselves. i would reccommend taking out immediately dunkin and roll then place them in your fruiting chamber. it is also not a good idea to dunk and roll after they have started to pin i wouldnt advise it.
