Today i went to a park which shall remain unnamed and i found a total of 7 people picking all in the pouring rain picking cyan pins no more that a cm across... hope no one miss-id'd those guys. then we looked around for maybe an hour didnt find another patch or even anything that usually seems to grow near cyans.... odd. But here in N. Washington its been about 50 or so and raining non-stop for 3 days. So let the picking comense.

WTF. How stupid is it to pick pins when you can wait a few more days, let them spread their spores and are more to eat!?! Personal greed ruins it all... :mad2:

Work was slow, so I did a little poking around today. Nothing active, but I saw a lot growing in the bark beds in a botanical garden near my house. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I have new hope, though I doubt anything active will find its way there! *crosses fingers*

If you don't mind me asking, what does typically grow near cyans?

Heres some pictures of the first find of the year. Looks like it should be promising. We've had a ton of rain lately.

Haven't seen anything on the oregon coast yet but only checked a few known patches. Someone else mentioned seeing a few azures but didn't see them myself.

Rain all week and slightly lower temps - might just do the trick!

ill probably go back in a couple days to check up on that spot. but i cant wait till i start to see some cyans. the season is finally here!!! YAY!!!:D

Went out today to find a nice pasture to pick liberty caps in. Found one on some podunk road out in the middle of nowhere, with liberty caps growing EVERYWHERE! So i went up to the farm house and asked the owner if i could pick the shrooms in his field. He said yes, but the funny thing is he told me to come back on the weekend, because there really weren't that "many" mushrooms out right now. I can't even imagine how many will be there by the time i come back on Saturday. But i digress,

riding around on a bike is a great idea. I should have thought of that.
I found some really great spots in portland that had nothing yet to offer. i am sicker than hell right now too, so i am not going to be getting out much. Thats okay though, i have a lot of homework to do.

I am rambling, sorry. I am really out of it from this cold.
