How long do the cyans keep on here in the Northwest? Someone mentioned seeing them come up even after snow. Is this correct?

It usually takes several hard freezes before they are totally gone, and even then a rogue patch here and there has been found. See @cro's gallery for some awesome snowy cyans from last year.

29 g's dried again today . . . second time i've pulled that exact amount from my patch. Yearly haul is up to about 200 g's dried.
I hope the season last long, i've really enjoyed hunting this year. Tomorrow im gonna go on a huge hunt, expand my boundaries, try to find a few new patches so i can stockpile in case the season ends prematurely.

Hey new to the forums. Great to see this thread. I live in the PNW and came across some awesome Amanita Fly Algeric (sp?). I wish I had pics, but they went to mush before I got to it.
Anyways... I was busily looking for info on these red capped, white speckled wonders, of how to prepare/process this sort before consumption. Seems to be a lot of conflicting information on this species out there ( the internet ).
Anyone got the down low on this?
Thanks

Here's a few from the other day...

And then of course the ones where you kick yourself for letting the patch go unattended so long...

Well, I finally found some cyanescens fruiting up at my parent's property this morning! Looks like all those "past-their-prime" caps I tossed into the yard have finally taken hold!

There's more coming up in the backyard too!
