i made it out to the coast yesterday. didnt find many cyans or azures but i cant believe how many amanita muscaria were fruiting. coolest looking mushroom ever! i could have filled an entire truck bed with them. im drying them out and debating on what to do with them. lots of mixed opinions about amanitas...

yea. no question it i the most mysterious mushroom that i know of. I see them quite often too...i wonder what it would be like to trip on an amanita

the passed couple days i guess you could kinda say i've been on a shroomtastic streak. yesterday while working, i found yet another small patch of grass cyans in someone's yard. then, today again while working in someone else's yard i looked down and saw some of the biggest nicest looking blue ringers i've ever seen all over the place.....

all around the whole lawn, which there must have been some kind of super substrate, cuz as i was trying to descretely pluck a few blue ringers, i plucked my next one and to my pleasent suprise i found....

i also found some pan subbs, deadly conocybes and a few others i didn't have time to identify. the only one lacking was some baeos!!! i sure would've known what was under that lawn. it was about a half acre of really nice lawn and the shrooms were just scattered throughout. i could only grab a small amount compared to what was already there. i couldn't help but think "the earthworms that live here must be the shamans of all earthworms, devouring all that yummy stunzii, cyanescens, and subb mycelia."
i'll have to go back when nobody's home and have one helluva haul and some good habitat pics. keep the water falling from the sky and happy hunting!!

WTF? You've got to quit damaging the substrate and pulling up huge chunks of it. It doesn't have to be scissors, but you need to use a pocket knife, or a sharp fingernail, or something so you aren't totally destroying the patch.

ripping up shrooms, mycelium and all, is a shame. i hope they know he most likely ruined that patch for future fruits this season...
dont be ignorant to ppl wiser than you trying to help you out. use a sharp object to cut them off at the base just before the substrate next time.

hell yea the season is still going!! well i went back to that lawn that i found yesterday with cyans, stunzii and pan subbs to get the rest of the blue ringers and as i was going around BAM!!! there they were, the only missing piece...the one and only Baeocystis!!! not very many, but still.....one lawn 4 active spieces....I want a lawn like that!!!! then, later in the day at another home, due to my recent findings i've been looking alot more in the lawns themselves and as i was doing this yet again spotted some more blue ringers. so i started picking them as quick as i could and as i picked what i first thought was a kinda funny lookin' stunzii, i realized it was.....more baeos!!! again, not very many, but lots of pins and very fresh good looking fruits. much different than the ones i found growing out of woodchips a week ago. anyways here's a pick of 3 of the different actives from the lawn i found yesterday. left to right there's 2 blue ringers, 1 cyan, and then 2 baeos. all from the same lawn and substrate, all next to each other for comparison:

well, i would've got some habitat pics but the shrooms were so scattered and weren't in any really tight clusters, except for some of the blue ringers. i'll at least try to get some of the baeo pics next time i go. well, happy hunting and keep up the rain dance.
