yea like i said they were REAL mature...there were a few rotten ones i didn't pick, but the small ones(that you can't really see in the photo and the ones that were most fresh and untouched by slugs) are the ones i set aside and intentionally bruised and spore printed just to be sure. as we speak they're drying, and you can see the greenish bruises on a fading tan cap.

SuchSmartMonkeys said: i keep finding patches that are just pinning up, then i'll come back the next day even to check on them and they'l be just torn the fuck up. it's a real shame. so many spots just get rapetified...i witnessed 2 high schoolers literally destroy one of my favorite spots. i started off trying to be nice and explaining to them about how to go about picking them and just asking them to be respectful, to me, to the mushrooms, to the rest of the community who might want to come and get a few, etc. i go over to check another spot and come back 5 minutes later, and there is no remnants of mushrooms of any sort left. There was literally hundreds of tiny pins, would have been enough for like 3 people to trip maybe, but in like 4 days would have been like 2 ounces... I was angry, i started yelling at them that i hoped they had a good slaughter, and that they felt good about themselves for commiting rape. they just laughed....kids these days
hahahha I wish i could have been there. We would have laid down some adult-to-child beatings, bro.
edit: But don't try it alone. Those teens can be horribly damaging. They're like little chihuahuas. My ankles haven't healed, since my last attemp to beat down teens.

just got back from my sacred patch. It actually not a patch its more of like an area you have to walk around. neway i noticed they were not very many pins or mid sized cyans. there were either 15 gram wet monsters i left from about 5 days-a week ago or a few little babies, but there werent many and pretty much no mid sized cyans. i woudl think the rain from the last few days would kick it up a knotch.
nonetheless i hauled in 463.6 of wet cyans. that should give a nice O and a half of dried cyans in about 4 or 5 days
I love mushroom season

did some cleaning at my patch today, there are pins EVERYWHERE, and its pooring rain outside. I took a haul of about 35 wet cyans today that i haven't weighed out, but there are many that are mid sized at the patch at the moment . . . and as i said a lot of pins. Seasons is kicking into high gear!!!!

I picked some of the fattest cyans ive ever seen today. one was like the size of my hand! i accidently ripped the cap when i pulled it out of the bush:[ i found alot that were prime like a week ago but are now all black n mushy:/ i took a pic of all the medium ones i found too, when do you guys think they will be ready?

when should i go back for these lil guys?
look at how fat that one wouldve been if i didnt rip it :

checked one of my cyanescens patches and came back with roughly 8 grams dry. today i was lucky enough to stumble upon two nice cyanofibrillosa specimens that are printing right now. thats always a plus, i'll be going back in a few days to hunt for more. the more prints the better right?
has anyone ever attempt indoor fruiting of cyanofibrillosa's?

Anyone have any photos of Azures growing in their natural environment at the Oregon coast? Would love to see them(past or present) even if I can't seem to find any out there on my travels. Thanks

there is a search engine here for a reason. please search "azurescens pics", "azurescens pictures" and/or "azurescens photos". limit this search to the mushroom hunting forums and you will find a great many photos of ours from over the years.

Nothing active, possibly a Chroogomphus. More information is needed - clearer pictures and the spore print color.

I just got a call from a buddy in east side of Seattle. He mentioned groups of Blue Ringers like nothing ever seen. We are going to pick them tonight and I’ll have pictures up shortly. Anyway I thought I would say hello, this board made me feel comfortable to ID and actually eat some. Safely of course. I take it THIS is the season, mid-November, not freezing, enough moisture. Next weekend is going to be a blast!

Found about 6 libs in the horse pasture nearby. A couple were just open up there caps so I figure it's just starting to get wet enough for them.
Anyone else finding/hunting for libs out there?
A note about young people (highschool kids) finding patches. I was in a popular eugene park and not thinking I was even going to find much and came across some very young kids (like 13 or so) just wondering the paths with a paper bag in hand like "here's some, here's a patch over here" so I figured I just ask what's up and they were cool about showing me what they were picking (nice finds, mostly full open caps) and even mentioned to me not to step into the garden beds to disturb the habitats. I was amazed after hearing such destruction from the youth out there am excited that even if these kids are way young they at least had respect for the environment. Anyway I ended up with everything they found. HAHA those kids were cool. I guess with some people it's all about respect. But to hell with anyone out there of anyage messin' up any mushrooms habitat from clear cutting forests to ripping up cyan habitat!
