Just keep looking. Don't keep track of your unsuccessful hunts. Scour those chips like religion, and stay the fuck away from beauty bark. It took me a couple of seasons before I found anything. I had to have a friend show me some fresh specimens before I really knew what to hunt for. The next day I didn't go home until I found what I wanted.

It's treating me very nice, and it's much bigger than last year. I think I'll head back up next week. My other Bellingham patches are either nonexistant or late bloomers, so it pretty sweet to find that.

i ahve a question tho. how do you guys dry your cyans? i noticed when i dry them out by putting them on the top of there caps on newspaper, once they are done drying, the cap crucially get stuck and fuse to the newspaper and the cyans look all deformed and wierd looking after.....
its not a big deal because i wont dry them that way nemore, but what do you guys dry them on? and how do you lay them out??

I like to use wax paper.....here's an example using yesterday's haul from my tall grass cyan patch:

The wax paper works great for making spore prints too, the spores scrape right off the wax paper and when the cyans are dry, I pick up the paper and they all slide right off into the container.  Just like grandma's cookies, but even yummier.;)

See.......

Found my first Oly patch.
Well... they found me.

A week later I went down the road from this spot and found a different location that is overflowing with fruits.
Ran into a fellow picker up there who already had a plastic grocery bag stuffed to the brim.
We smoked a bowl and continued picking and sharing stories for another 2 hours or so.  God I love Washington! :tongue2:

Lookie here..  This is definitely my favorite time of year!

I really wish it wouldn't get so cold at night.

Went on another hunt today. My roomate came with me to the Beaverton, OR area and still no psilocybian mushrooms.

Is that the park on Watson Ave? I see Aminita's growing there often.
Good luck on finding actives around here. This is my second season hunting and no such luck.... damn cyan's haven't found me yet.

Not quite but very close. I went to that park you're talking about and there were more yellow-tinged amanitas. I found a ton of amanitas in Beaverton...hundreds of them. So disappointing since I hear some people saying that when you find amanitas cyans are usually close. But yeah I found amanitas under pines, under birch, alder, in little holly-looking plants, parks, business areas, whatever. Those mushrooms in that particular picture I spotted while I was driving like 30mph and turned around to get a good photo and check out the area. Was in a business area.

I was playing disc golf the other day.
And my disc landed right next to a small patch...
no pics of that, sorry.
The next day I found a substantial patch at a different disc golf course.

The ol' sayin' is true though... they are EVERYWHERE.
I can't even take a day off to go to the park!
