Sorry about the delay in getting this up.
I picked these on my lunch break last friday
 and these.

Later that night I met up with a few friends.

and decided to invite a few of their friends.

Saturday, a spontaneus trip to B-ham brought us these fine finds

 and this guy too.

Man this season is really swinging into high gear. During lunch today, I swung back to the patches by my work. Most of them were drying out, so I picked the bigger ones and danced for rain. Thanks again to Boomers for the B-ham blues.
hazaa!

i've found some of my biggest specimens growing under tall grass thats been pushed down on its side by heavy rain. infact i'd say the ones that grow in grass with wood debris uder it blue the darkest out of all the ones i found.

I've had no luck with cyans around the puyallup area. I've found subbs but those kind of suck. Man, I'm so noobish at this I just can't find the right habitat.

nasty galerinas and dank blue ringers [Re: Stymee]

Yesterday while working in someone's yard, I found some nice little blue ringers popping right out of their front lawn that looked much more "dank" than the ones I found a few weeks ago... they blued fairly rapidly and fairly dark compared to the ones I found in the passed and some of them had these wicked thick stems......

I could only grab a handfull of what was there......

When I was leaving I noticed this little guy.....Are you eating shrooms young man!?!?

Feeling inspired, I decided to check an area that I think has lots of potential for cyans, but still have had no luck.....while walking around I got excited when I saw this....

Only to lift up the fallen leaves and find this.....

Yep those little pins that look so much like cyans were actualy the nasty galerina autumnalis...yuck!! I guess that goes to show that picking pins(unless they're from your own patch and you're sure of what they are) is NOT a good idea. Those pins looked just like cyan pins(even had some black bruising). Anyways pray for rain today. Awesome pics everyone, and nice Azures Mattso and psilygirl. Happy Hunting!!!!!!

wow those pins look HORRIBLY alike to cyans pins. thats not good at all. the same thing happened to me right when i posted this thread. i had checked o a patch i had from last year and saw a bunch of pins and figured they were cyans. about a week later i came to find a bunch of galerinas
but its ok that area is in fullllll force now! i've picked so far over around a HP dry and tomorrow i exp[ect to get 200-300 more frest new mature fruits!
i ahve a question tho. how do you guys dry your cyans? i noticed when i dry them out by putting them on the top of there caps on newspaper, once they are done drying, the cap crucially get stuck and fuse to the newspaper and the cyans look all deformed and wierd looking after..... its not a big deal because i wont dry them that way nemore, but what do you guys dry them on? and how do you lay them out??
this season is treating me fantasticly. my previous two seasons, i didnt even find a patch until november. this year i found patch befo

it was about time me and my lady visited our first WA patch again this morn.
mmmm
the top left ones are from yesterdays new patch, and the rest are from 9am this morning.
the ones on top were growing in grass, the ones on bottom were growing on woodchips, both cut off at ground level, and the grass ones seemed to be more stem dominant as far as where all the growth went, and cap dominant for the woodchip ones.

Quick question:
I found a few small patches but some mushroom caps are rotting. Would it be beneficial to throw those moldy ones out so the others don't get moldy? Or does it not matter much?

I'm having no luck. Landscaped areas, places full of Rhody bushes, and in area's full of alders. The 5 acres of woods I have is full of mulched wood but in the short time I've spent out there haven't found any cyans. It's a lot of cottonwood, pine, cedar mulch and I don't think that is what they like ?

dead grass and I came up. Sorry no habitat pictures this was an unscheduled hunt and didn't have camera.

I found these at a park in seattle. the first part of my hunt didnt go so well because right when i got to one of my best patches i saw like 6 highschool kids walking out with like 4 plastic bags full or cyans so i headed to my other spots and got a decent amount, but right when i was about to head back i looked up from my mushroom squat and BAM they all just revealed themselves, i stared at it in awe and happiness, then ran back to get more bags definatly the best patch ive found yet!
