Mattso, I too found an early bluing cyan today. I also saw that the patch I left to grow more 5 days ago, is 1/4 pale. Guess I should get my ass out there and explore some more.

yeah Jimi... hit the bricks, homey. This week's rain-free... I imagine there are already some new, fresh patches popping from last weeks rain. They'll dry up this week and get into full gear in coming rainy days.
Hey Gopal - what city/state you find that patch in?
Just trying to get a handle on cyans range.

Yeah, Jaymes, I mean I have looked in neighborhoods and parks alike. I've been checking in some business shrubbery as well. It hasn't been limited to just parks. But nonetheless, no luck.
People tell me that everyone has this notion that you have to get out of the city to get any mushrooms. And they say that idea isn't necessarily true and that they grow everywhere.
So I don't know. But I have some friends that live in some more rural suburbs that I might go out with and take a gander around there.
By the bye - to Jaymes, Rogerrabbit and anyone: Are the buildings, houses, areas you mention here older buildings and developments or fairly old and undistubed landscapes?
I ask because the neighborhood I've been looking is a really well-maintained area.
Thanks, man.

My first REAL patch. I couldn't take any good pictures of it because it was surrounded by shit and you couldn't step over any of it without stepping on the love.

From the amount of pictures shared this year it's almost seeming like Portland's outdoing Seattle this year, which isn't possible since only like 3 people from Portland are upping anything.

This seems like an exelent year for mushrooms! I've picked about 15 lbs of chantrels, white and yellow, had some really good zellers bolets, and today found shaggy parasols! Oh, and that 2 lbs of oyster mushrooms, and faun mushrooms everywhere, and some really really good meadow mushrooms. Also found that I work at a place that is a perfect liberty cap breeding ground. So many mushrooms! So little time to find them all.
Well, not so little time, I work outside, so I find new mushrooms every day.

Nice signature as well. I'm sure A Silver Mt. Zion is perfect when frying.

well somehow i spotted these bad guys while riding my bike home from work today.
 they look interesting indeed.
and then looked around closely...

aha! score!
 and more to be found?
whats on the other side of the bush?

oh shit son!
then i realized i was stepping on like 20 of them that were the same color as the woodchips!!! aahhhhhhh didnt take photos of them, but quickly pinched the mature ones and headed home.
thats 4 patches so far
M@ SO! pin killer lol all i wanted was a veil shot or two
not in the least, and no one else harvests from here. plus i spore print the shit out of my favorite hats and things, so when i ride my bike i disperse more than a stand-still mushroom ever could. not to mention I have about 20 cardboard coffee sleeves loaded with mycelium for next years spawn, which i intend to distribute freely among a few towns.

I didn't mean to say that you won't find anything in the city. I was more saying that you'll have better luck finding a nice, untouched patch that only you will ever know about. That you can let grow to full potential.

Awesome find H_Wrabbit! That is one hell of patch. I've hunted nearly 10 parks in the past two days and totally struck out. I'm experiencing some serious burnout but your pics give me hope. Should I stay in the city or head to the 'burbs?

Went out for a ride on mah bike to hunt before it got too dark.
Found a patch like Mattso was describing above.

These are still ok to eat right? Are they rotting?
