Non neccessarily, but it is a basic maxim that the more they bruise the more potent they WERE, 'cause bruising is also a sign of lost potemcy from what I understand. The psilocin oxidizes.

Well right on!!
When I first found them, I thought hmmm these look just like cyans, but there's no obvious wood substrate and they dont bruise dark dark blue(like other cyans i have found), but they didn't fit the charactaristics of any other actives i know of. These ones are maybe a little less bulky as well...tall but not thick(probably due to the grass they were growing in. When I go back, I'll get some habitat pics...i was about 2 miles from my car and forgot my camera....

no it does not. the bluing usually just indicates where the damage is being done to/on the mushroom. if you havndle your pickings with alot of care ie: only handling on the edges of the cap and bottom of the stem, then you will preserve the cyans alot longer, and this in turn wont cause as much bluing to them.

Found some cyans the other day with the help of a more experienced picker, the parked i was at had already been picked over pretty good. They took forever to kick in and i almost had a heart attack about wondering if i had picked the wrong kind, needless to say I,m still alive (yay), and I know what too look for now, MAJOR THANKS to the mysterious hunter who helped me out.

Finally found a small little patch of cyans growing in some person's front yard near an alder tree. I knocked for about 5 minutes, no answer. Didn't have a pen to leave a note, so when I go back some time next week to check on the other half that were too small to pick, I'll let them know.
After my 6th day of random hunting, I finally found some, while small in quantity, I'm a big rush of adrenaline to say the least.

I tried to leave the ones that were smaller than a... I guess a 50 cent piece.

im a bit perterbed tho. i wanna find a new patch. iv only been able to find cyans where i found them last year during a 2 hour hunt sesh befor i went back to sf.
you guys seem to find choice, parkish spots with old woodchiped beds. iv found like one of those near a path and it aint fruiting any fungus of any kind.

yeah. thats basicly my game too. google maps helps too with finding parks. also i have been checking lots of cemitarys. not all of them use wood chips but i think it would be bad ass to have cyans that grow i the ground where people rot

Fonda Cox's First Haul of 2007 [Re: notapillow]

Well I've been stuck in Quebec because of a business trip until today. I was so excited I went out mid afternoon (stupid idea).
After getting a good amount at my regular spot, I stopped at the car and left them before going any further. Just as I was heading back I spotted a cluster in the wood chips below a tree. I stopped, looked around and bent down to pick and some guy in a car with tinted windows says on a loud speaker "PREVENT FOREST FIRES". I must have jumped 3 feet in the air! Holly shit! Then the guy proceeded sound the siren every few minutes while I walked away.
I looped around a few times and waited for him to leave before going back. Well someone found the patch before me; the mycelium was all disturbed and had chunks missing. There was also a discarded cluster of mycelium with 12 stem trunks. Stupid person before me just ripped the clumps out. What an ass!
Anyway, here's my haul:
