Found another 2 cyan patches in Seattle. One of those patches was a single group of about 20 mushrooms. Total dry weight for me this season comes to about 40g. The season has just begun! This weeks rain ensures some massive fruiting this week and next.
Happy Hunting Everyone!
P.S. I also found a huge patch of 20-30 Amanita muscaria. I picked about 8 fully mature ones but I don't like the effects of Soma. I'll keep them in case a friend wants some or to use in a trade. I'll post pics of the cyans and muscaria once I figure out why I can't upload pics.
Is it alright to dry Amanitas in a heated food dehydrator?

From what I understand, Amanitas loose their "magic" when dryed. If you want to really experience them, eat them fresh.

B-ham roll call. I will be out and about in B-ham today looking for my next haul of goodies, but this time I'm camera armed. Hopefully I will have some pics this evening. Great pics guys, it was great to jump on after a couple days, and see everyone seems to be doing fair to kickass.

i would not suggest this, consuming them fresh leads to sweating and vomiting, while everything melts around you, not fun. sundried is the best, and tea from sundried is better.

Been nosing around whatcom county area. Had a few finds. Lots of colonized wood chips ready to pin. I also keep finding spots that look like people have been ripping the things out of the ground. Those of you in the whatcom area, please use scissors and be careful of the precious mycleium
Happy Hunting

i've already had my best patch i've ever seen raped by someone. i left behind a good 60-100 pins and 2 days later it looked like an elephant had trampled through the patch. its a damn shame.
good luck!
hey pigsarefood, was one of the hunters you met wearing a grey beanie type hat? if so then that was me! i've met about 5 other hunters so far this week, even shared a patch with one of them. i'm just asking because i met another hunter and we both had a little talk about how we've seen SOOOOO many places where you could tell someone went nuts and tore the patch up.
seriously a pair of cheap scissors (like the kind for fingernails etc) is only $1 or $2. I keep manicure scissors in my jacket as well as a paperbag at all times.

first, its a rule that you can't ask for exact places on the forums. however you are in luck because I can give you all the info you need.
A. They are everywhere!
B. Look at every area that has mulch as you walk through Seattle. This means at parks, shrubs around buildings, in people's mulched yards etc. Do this as you do your daily things also. A good hunter always has his/her eyes scanning everything. I found my newest patch while walking down a residential street at night. Right in someone's yard.
-
Here is a pic of a cyan i picked at my newest patch and some Amanita muscaria pics.
 Perfect Cyan
 Amanita muscaria
Amanita muscaria var. formosa (These are supposedly rare in the PNW. Right?)

just asking because this is what erowid said about formosa's range.
RANGE: Dominant A. muscaria in eastern North America. Common in the Sierra Nevadas but rare in the western Coastal ranges.
SEASON: Late June - Novermber in the Northeast US; November - February in California.
(Yes, November was misspelled on the erowid page.)
I've seen quite a few around lately at parks and a few by bus stops. The pic is of one growing at a bus stop at UW.
