Pillow,I'm not 100 percent on this But What I have heard is that when the mycellium runs into a barrier such as dirt,Container wall, the Mycellium will progress toward the surface, through the wood chips,Hey,Ya once the Mycellium, starts to grow on to the card board,You can add more layers,Make sure that you peel one side of the card board off,so that the inside Corgrated bumps are exposed, make sure caed board is moist first it helps with the card board peeling apart, place the bump side down on the Mycelliun growing through the other piece of cardboard,U can build this mycellium cake best in a tubber ware storage container with a lid,I drill holes for ventalation.then once I build a cardboard cake, I pour on soaked wood chippes,I then cover with a 2 inch layer of Dirt, then i throw on some grass seed, then water,Make sure there are drain holes in botom of storage container, make with a drill,Place Container in the Shady,Cool area ,water 2-3 times a month threw-out summer, the dirt and grass will help keep mycellium collonized till fall, and then the nw rains come and do the watering, and soon enough,ur fruit will emerge from the top on the grassy container...

Heres the pics as promised.
Sadly, about 90% of my pictures were too blury to post. Im still trying to work out the kinks in my macro feature.

A cool cluster of mushrooms growing on woodchips

The first patch of the day, more exposed than most of the ones we were finding.

Some pretty dry cyans found on sunday after about 2 days of sunny weather.

A small patch found today during the rain. Looks like slugs had been eating on these for a while

A very nice Amanita Muscaria, found tons of these growing.

More dry cyans from sunday.

Hope to bring some better quality pictures to the table as the season progresses. Cheers

i ahve a question.

why are baeocystis so fucking hard to find??

i've been hunting for 3 seasons now, and not once have i come across baeocystis.

are they really rare or something, do they grow in certain substrates ?

how come i dont find them like i find cyans?
thanx for replies

yeah i barely ever see baeos in their habitat, only a few harvest pics now and then.

then again i see them mostly growing in woodchips and flower beds in landscaping when i do see habitat.

hey nice finds Hyzenthlay. Yeah the top pick only has one chanterelle in it (the yellow one). Don't eat the orange ones. The white ones are Russula Brevipes (edible if you can get it before the bugs) and I'm not sure if the Bolete is edible or not, don't eat if it stains blue!

Hooper,

I think they are just really picky or something. Mostly, because they fruit in a more narrow temperature range, from what I've read. They are much smaller and usually very dark in color. Even if you did happen to come across them, they are pretty hard to see. They're more easy to spot when they are drying out, from lack of rain. (Hygrophanous)

Yes. Beaos are very hard to spot in their natural habitat. They blend in very well. Where i pick them there is just a rediculous amount of them growing... I picked all the ones you see in that bag in 20 minutes. When they start to dry they do get very white and are much more noticable.

So my friend was at a job interview in the industrial area and while I waited for him I took a little walk. I only covered about 1/20th of the area too  Habitat pics in a few days.
