Hey guys, I fucked up.
I was trying to tidy up the thread by removing off-topic posts, but i accidentally sent the last 3 pages to the dump... They are not deleted, so if they cannot be reattached to this thread, I will manually quote each relevant post, and add it.
Sorry, and thanks for your patience. I should have this thread intact by the end of the day.

Found a couple little baby cyans today in a pretty public place in Portland. Gonna go check on them in a couple of days and see if they survive and grow. Looks like the game's afoot!

seespikerun-- those are cyans! Sometimes in age/dryness the color fades in their caramel cap. And yep, they can get purdy big.
spores--nice patch

You just made me sooooooooo happy. I dont know where your patch is, but just that someone has some makes me happy. I know that many of you do, but i dont ever hear about them, and after many outings I have yet to find any. I even went to Seattle this weekend for an urban hunt(non found). It seems that the majority of urban finds are in the Seattle area.

it is very unlikely to find them in interior bc. this is well within habitat for woodland cyans, but they tend to migrate down watershed and in woodland habitats, they've never been terribly common. your best bet is to head towards the coast if you have the chance this season. another option is to look for P. pelliculosa.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

 Ambiguous? I love these guys.

In one of Portland's sub-cities. The biggest one was a lone pin last Thursday but they're coming.

That's why I said "ambiguous". I guess putting a question mark there made it look like I was asking, huh? A question mark just seemed to fit the questionableness of that mushroom, if you know what I mean. I'll take more pictures of the cyans as they grow.

Day two of the official mushroom hunting season.. and it's still early yet... YAY.
Found this cool looking patch of Naematalomas and looked at it long enough to find it wasn't alone....

Yeah....

Yesterday had it's own rewards...

A bug had eaten some of this one... I was pissed at the bug. I told him, " Hey.... you're a bug! Eat something else! I'm a wizard... I NEED that...!" And he left.

i LOVE being back in the PACnw... I can talk to bugs `n shit.
YAY!
