Just run the needle of the syringe through the flame that comes up off of the shot glass (don't touch the needle to the glass though). I immediately insert the syringe into the hole and wait a couple seconds for the needle to cool (I don't want to fry those precious spores) and then inject. Shake, flame sterilize, and repeat. 1cc syringes seem like a bit of a hassle to fill with spores, but it would be easier to measure out small amounts of spore solution this way.

Yea you might want to experiment with the 1cc's but my mom has some of these and they are very small, i use the 10cc syringes. I tend you use a 3 or 4 cc when i innoculate my cakes, faster colonization though, but if it contaminates you lose more.
