Hey guys, i'm new to the state of Alabama. Just found out that they grow some good shrooms down here. I visited a local, secluded, cow pasture after a rainy night(it was still sprinkling) and found 2 of these. They were growing in some knee high grass about 15 feet from a tree, lots of cow crap in the area. It's "gills"(is thast what you call'em) are light blue if you need more info(i'm sure you do) just ask. Sorry about the poor desricption, like i said, i'm new...thanks guys.

My friend, you will get far better ID's with a picture and a proper ID request. Sample ID Request
Also, there are a number of internet sites where you can host photo's. Try Photobucket, easy signup, simple to use. Also, check out the Shroomery Gallery.

Imageshack images always load slowly for me.
I prefer photobucket, it works great and the images load very quickly.
Perhaps the best way to do it is to upload the pictures to http://mushroomobserver.org. That way they are preserved forever, are useful to other mushroom enthusiasts, and you can include the images in any post with IMG tags. Mushroom observer also lets you upload much higher resolution photos than the other sites people use, though you should use the medium size images for posts because a super high res image is way too wide for the forums. Its easy, you just right click on the image you want, choose Copy Image Location, then paste that URL inside IMG tags.

Yeh you found/picked green gills aka, C. molybdites toxic and not very edible however you are on the right path by searching cow pastures what you're looking for is P. cubensis white to yellowish golden cap ,white/blue stem when bruised, dark brownish/purplish gills sometimes greyish most times there is a veil on the stem thats either white or purple from spore deposit grows directly from/out of dung/poo
after rains is the best time to hunt for these
this particular mushroom should bruise/turn colors(blue/greenish blue) when handled/pinched ..thats what you should be looking for .... oh yeah the season will be over soon so hunt all that you can you'll find it sooner or later ...research is k3y to finding what you're searching for ..;)

That's why it's in Public Domain If he really wants to know, get a field guide. A field guide is the mushroom hunters best friend.

It is a beautiful pic, as long as you don't focus on the mushroom. The sunrise is in perfect focus.
For mushroom shots like that, use a decent digital camera that has macro mode. If you want the background and the mushroom to both be in focus, you can set the fstop to 8.0 in manual mode, might just work.
> That's why it's in Public Domain
You should also consider releasing some really nice mushroom photos into the public domain. In several hundred years, the only trace left of you will be the things you released into public domain.
