Wow (cactus talk)

I had a variety of seeds kicking around that I'd done nothing with. Some peruvian torch, san pedro and peyote. I also had about a tray full of cactus soil.
So I threw caution to the wind, put some soil in a tray, dampened it, and sprinkled some seeds over it. I have no idea how many seeds or what variety is now in which section of the (fairly small photographic) tray.
This was last weekend. Imagine my surprise today when I noticed I must have at least a dozen tiny, tiny cactus seedlings poking through! Infact, I just had to convert the tray into a makeshift tent to make sure they don't hit the plastic wrap that's helping things incubate.
Anyone else ever seen our favorite cacti germinate this fast? I was always under the impression it took weeks for them to even think about making an appearence.
It's worth mentioning they've been kept in the low 80Fs all this time.

I don't have a macro feature on my digital camera (actually, my digicam is my Sony video camera in photo mode!). So you wouldn't see a whole bunch right now.
For sure, when they grow a bit more I will post pics.
I'm guessing (based on what I remember of what seeds got sprinkled where) that it's San Pedros germinating right now.
I've never seen a tiny cactus seedling before. They are neat!!!

I guess the conditions must have been just right, or you had some good seeds.
I'm going to plant my seeds when I get my mushrooms out of my propagator I'll do some macro pics then.

psyconaut,
I have found the first cacti appear in about 10 days (peruvian), but most appear between 14 and 28 days. In the next few weeks you will probably get allot more cacti.
