i don't think B+ is the one that likes wood, it's actually the B strain as told to me by Ryche. the strain designations are easy to confuse!

Cubensis strive on straw and dung composts. They work very well on whole grains such as white millet and rye and also perform pretty nicely on concentrated flours (BRF etc.) it all depends what your goals are.

My cat has just begun experiments spawning straw with rye grain and he swears to me that his B+ spawn showed clearly visible signs of taking to the straw no more than four hours after spawning.
B+ is such a robust strain, it's almost like cheating!
If you ask my opinion I say grow on rye, spawn on straw/dung.

Spawning a bulk substrate, usually straw or dung or straw+dung composts, from any whole grain is defently a very economical way of growing cubensis. If you dont want to go the whole nine-yards, then case the rye for great results!
