excluding a small portion on the bottom of the pint jars, it is completely colonized. this jar has three mushrooms coming out pressed up against the glass. should i go ahead and birth or wait until the bottom is done? also, when i do birth, do i remove the mushrooms before dunking? can i go ahead and eat them or should i save them or what

It's not necessary to remove the pins before you dunk. Pins rarely abort when birthed with the cakes, and almost always survive the dunk, often doubling in size overnight. If they abort, pick them. RR

After picking my mature mushies I dunk my monotubs with the small shrooms still comming through the casing. Never hurts them
