hey,
i was just wondering that when i posted a previous post i asked how i can store fresh shrooms to wait for other shrooms to grow for that batch, someone said i should put the in a paper bag then set them in a fridge, when i checked out a shroom in the paper bag like three days later it shriveled up and was flat and crisp, did i just dry them out? i thought i was preserving fresh mushrooms, but if it works for dryin' them too i'll keep on using that method, could anyone please tell me if i just preserved the shrooms into dry shrooms, thanx...

Well if they are shriveled and crisp, then yeah you dried them. You said a paper bag right, but what kind or how big. That's an interesting way to do it, did the mushrooms look bruised at all. I'm looking for alternitives other than using a big, messy drying cahmber.

i used a lunchbag type paper bag, the shroom looked alot smaller and it was slightly stained blue through almost the whole mushroom, but a very light blue,,

hmmm, Maybe the drying chamber is better. When they come out of that they are usually crisp, and bright white, unless I been touching them too much, even then it's only in the same spot I touched it during harvest. If you want to keep them as fresh as the day they came, store them in honey, or on a paper plate wrapped in paper towels in the fridge.
